Chantel, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
In order to keep my creativity alive, I frequently travel to new places and engulf myself in their culture. Learning new things and experiencing new things often inspires me and keeps the creative juices flowing. I also visit museums and art art galleries a few times a month.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a bench jeweler and gemologist. My company, KZMT & Co., specializes in custom jewelry, luxury timepieces and gemstone and jewelry manufacturing. We also offer jewelry repair and repurposing services.

The most exciting part about my job is being able to play with diamonds and gemstones on a daily basis. Learning their history, all their unique characteristics and what makes them so special.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Discipline as a quality. Being able to actually create jewelry from start to finish as a skill. And the knowledge on people’s spending habits. These 3 things have been the most impactful in my journey.

My advice would be to study and read as much as you possibly can on what you truly desire. Also, get a mentor! My career wouldn’t have gotten this far without one.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who knows exactly what they want to the T! I often have to walk clients through every single step of the process because even though people may love jewelry, they don’t really know much about it outside of being nice to look at and nice to wear.
