We were lucky to catch up with Chappell Hollingshead recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Chappell with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I learned and attribute my work ethic to the men in my life. My grandpa and dad showcased a powerful work ethic and I grew up aspiring to be just like them. Since a very young age, my dad and I ran long distance together and had a playful yet competitive spirit to our endeavors. Because of that shared competitive drive, I learned how to push myself physically and mentally. I felt the need to “keep up with the boys” and I never had to be pushed by anybody else. My grandpa also had a profound impact on my work ethic. Growing up my summers were spent learning how to mend fences, tighten barbed wire, lay patio bricks, and work cattle. Those long hot summer days left a lasting impression on me; that nothing comes easy and if you want something, you have to work hard for it. To this day, my grandpa edifies this truth daily by example, and I am extremely grateful for that.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Perseverance is an inherint characteristic necessary for your entreprenurial journey. I have learned perseverance, practice it daily and I keep in mind that “good things take time”. Building a business takes time, there is a lot of trial and error when starting and operating a business therefore learning how to be patient and persearvere is critical for success. Rome was not built in a day, keep this in mind when you set goals for the business. To go off of ‘persearverance’, determination and growing thick skin will also help you out in a long term business plan. You will fail, people will tell you ‘no’ and an owner has to stay determined and faithful.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I would love to connect with folks in the real estate world, specifically residential firms in order to discus and show the realtors the types of closing gifts we make. Our boards make for great gift options and the unique nature of our custom cutting boards are perfect for closing gifts, house warming and so on.
