Meet Chapter 28

We were lucky to catch up with Chapter 28 recently and have shared our conversation below.

Chapter , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Growing up I wasn’t always confident ,if I was confident at all. Back then the clothes they made for plus size women were terrible cheetah prints, flowers, and polka dots can only go so far. Back then there were no plus size advocates that helped plus size women with confidence or showing it’s okay to embrace your size. I knew when I got older I wanted to do something in the plus size industry to help women feel confident about themselves. I just didn’t know what. I found a love for lingerie and I love the way it felt on my body then it hit me nothing makes you feel sexier or confident than lingerie. So I started my business Chapter 28 I wanted it be the home for all plus size ladies too shop. I’ve always felt like we’ve never had anything just for us. I knew that this was my purpose. Being able to help women feel confident daily makes me feel like im doing what im supposed to do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We help women feel confident daily by being themselves. You’re not you when you’re not confident! Our role is to leverage our brand to create opportunities for women everywhere to define themselves on their own terms and use our platform to recognize and celebrate that individuality and diversity over and over. The most exciting thing about our brand we use real plus size models so plus size ladies don’t have to wonder what they will look like in our product, because they will always be able to see themselves in our products. This is what helps us build a reputation by showing different plus size women and different body types.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Research Dedication
Consistency

The best advice I can someone starting out early in there journey is to make sure you do your research about the field you’re planning to go in. Make sure you’re dedicated within your business and make sure you’re going into it because you love it instead of just for the money. It will never feel like you’re working. Make sure you consistent with your business there are many apps now that can help you stay consistent.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Honestly I don’t really feel overwhelmed within my business. I always believe in making sure i’m delegating tasks that way I don’t ever feel overwhelmed. I would also recommend to always stay ahead that way you don’t get behind.
