Hi Chelsea, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome as an event planner was like organizing the grandest event of my own life! First, I had to embrace the fact that even top-notch event planners have had moments of doubt, it’s part of the adventure! Then, I had to make a list of my epic successes! When I stumbled on this journey, I had to treat myself with a sprinkle of self-compassion, like adding a dash of glitter to my day. The imposter monster haunts me no more! I had to constantly remember, that this is my magical adventure, and I am the star event planner of my own story!

Our event planning team is a dynamic ensemble of creative visionaries and logistical wizards who come together to orchestrate unforgettable experiences. We are a tight-knit group of professionals with diverse backgrounds and expertise, all united by a passion for turning dreams into reality.

Logistics Gurus: Our logistical experts are the backbone of every event. They meticulously plan and manage timelines, coordinate with vendors, and ensure that all the moving parts fit seamlessly together, leaving no room for surprises.
Vendor Whisperers: We have a knack for building strong relationships with a vast network of vendors, from caterers and florists to entertainers and technicians. Our vendor coordinators negotiate contracts, secure the best services, and ensure that every detail aligns with the client’s vision.
Guest Experience Makers: Creating memorable experiences for attendees is our specialty. Our guest experience team handles everything from invitations and registration to seating arrangements and on-site amenities, ensuring that every guest feels like a VIP.
Risk Management Heroes: We’re ready for any curveball that might come our way. Our risk management team anticipates potential challenges and prepares contingency plans to keep the event running smoothly, no matter what.
Post-Event Evaluators: After the confetti has settled, our post-event team conducts thorough evaluations to learn from every experience. We analyze what worked, what didn’t, and how we can continue to improve our craft.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In my event planning journey, three superstar qualities have made all the difference for me:
Creative Spark: Events are like blank canvases waiting for your artistic touch. Nurture your creativity by staying curious, exploring design trends, and experimenting with out-of-the-box ideas. Think of events as your playground for imagination.
Communication Magic: Your ability to connect with clients, vendors, and guests is like a secret sauce. Sharpen your communication skills, be an attentive listener, and learn the art of clear, friendly, and effective communication. Don’t forget to build your event planning tribe by networking with fellow wizards in the industry.
Super-Organizer Powers: Organizing events is like choreographing a dance. Develop your organizational skills by creating detailed timelines, checklists, and schedules. Start small, volunteer at events, and work your way up to master the art of juggling all the event elements seamlessly.
