Meet Cheyenne Owens

We recently connected with Cheyenne Owens and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheyenne , so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
I stay persistent even with my haters and naysayers because if I was proving a point to them, I’d have already proved my point. I wake up and I set goals for myself. I write them down and focus on that. I don’t try to focus on what the haters and what they saying because I’m obviously doing something right

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hello my name is Cheyenne Owens I’m 23 and I am a make up artist located inside Statesboro, Georgia but, I’m from Brunswick Ga, and what I am focused on professionally is making women feel even more beautiful make them feel even more confident. I started doing makeup five almost 6 years ago because I grew up a plus size woman and I just always wanted to feel more beautiful and more confident and I seen the plus size model “Semirah Allen” and I was like “I want to be like that, I can look like that” and that same day I went to the dollar tree, and I picked up the lightest foundation and the cheapest primer And I went back home, got home put on a YouTube tutorial picked up a brush and never looked back. I don’t just wanna be a make up artist I wanna own my own clothing line and cosmetics line which is in the works and I’m going to and whatever else I put my mind and my heart to I’m going to do it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Don’t be scared to start just start don’t worry about when are the clients going to come or “when am I going to catch onto the skill”. Keep perfecting your craft the clientele and that skill that you’re missing on will come.

Don’t worry about who’s not supporting you don’t worry about who’s not coming value the ones that are coming and supporting give them your best!!

Stay consistent anytime you have free time to practice your craft or any skill you take up. practice
My teacher always told me to focus on my own paper. Don’t look at someone who’s doing the same thing as you focus on you and your craft.

And the last one never let anyone tell you “Your dreams to big” “You should think realistic” Keep pushing your dream, your brand and keep promoting yourself no dream to big “Sky’s the Limit”.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking to partnership/collab I would love to Collab with Fashion Nova or any plus size brand because I am a plus size woman that’s into fashion and I really want to get into modeling so if any brand see this or even Fashion Nova, please email me@CheyenneOwens 2001@gmail.com

And I would love to Collab with any makeup brand or any influencer makeup I would love to do “Queen Leora” “JT” “Stunna girl” or any major celebrity or influencer makeup so if you ever need a makeup artist or you would like to Collab or send me makeup products to swatch or test out. My email is at the top.
