Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chrisally Espinal. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chrisally, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I believe that my work ethic comes from a combination of my upbringing and life experiences. Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. They taught me that success is not handed to you on a silver platter, but rather it is earned through consistent effort and a willingness to push through challenges.
My parents were both hardworking individuals who held down full-time jobs while also raising a family. They demonstrated the value of a strong work ethic through their own actions, and they encouraged me to do the same.
As I grew older and began to pursue my own goals and aspirations, I faced a number of challenges and setbacks. However, the lessons I learned from my parents helped me to stay focused and motivated, even in the face of adversity.
One experience that stands out to me is when I had the opportunity to showcase my jewelry brand at a prominent company’s showroom. It was a significant undertaking as it was my first time organizing such an event. I wanted to include other small businesses, but I had to devise the style and theme, create a structure, and market it to my desired audience. With only a month and a half to accomplish this, it demanded a lot of time and effort. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed and disheartened, especially since I was also working full-time and planning my wedding. However, I recalled the lessons my parents taught me about the value of hard work and perseverance, and I persisted.
In the end, my diligence paid off, and the project was a triumph. I felt an immense sense of pride and achievement, knowing that I had invested the necessary time and effort to attain my objectives.
Overall, I believe that my work ethic is a fusion of the principles instilled in me by my upbringing and the lessons I have learned through my life experiences. These attributes have enabled me to succeed in both my personal and professional life, and I am grateful for the foundation that my parents provided me.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a one-woman show at ísäli jewelry, where I am involved in every aspect of the business, from handpicking each piece to designing the website and packaging. My attention to detail and intention is evident in every aspect of the brand, from the jewelry to the tissue paper that goes inside the packaging. I am passionate about my brand, and I hope that those who purchase ísäli jewelry can see that.
I draw inspiration from my personal experiences and channel them into creating jewelry collections that reflect my journey. The “Bridal” collection, in particular, is a tribute to my own wedding experience. It’s been exciting to see how this experience has influenced the collection’s design and aesthetic.
The “Bridal” collection comprises unique and special pieces, designed to complement a bride’s wedding day attire or to be gifted to her bridesmaids. Moreover, some of these pieces can be worn beyond the wedding day, serving as a reminder of the special occasion and the love shared on that day.
While I don’t create these designs myself, I handpick them with care to ensure they align with my brand’s design and aesthetic, representing my personal style. It’s thrilling to see how this collection will resonate with customers. Moving forward, my future goal is to collaborate with a designer to create fine jewelry that embodies my brand’s vision.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that has been impactful in my journey are:
Persistence: The ability to keep going despite any obstacles or failures is crucial in any journey. Being persistent has helped me stay focused on my goals and motivated you to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. I find that to develop persistence, it’s important to set realistic goals, break them down into smaller steps, and to always celebrate my progress along the way.
Continuous Learning: The world is constantly changing, and it’s essential to keep learning and adapting to stay relevant. Whether it’s through formal education, online courses, or self-study, continuous learning has helped me acquire new skills, knowledge, and perspectives that has benefited me in my journey. I make it a habit to read as much as I can, listen to podcasts and I ask a lot of questions to those who are more knowledgeable than me to help develop these skills.
Networking: Building relationships and connecting with others not only in my field but with other business minded individuals has helped me gain so much valuable insights, advice, and opportunities. Networking can also help you stay motivated, inspired, and accountable. I’m still working on developing this skill, but I find that attending networking events, engage with others on social media, and seeking out mentorship or coaching has helped me immensely.
My advice for those who are early in their journey is to focus on developing these qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge. Remember that success takes time, effort, and patience. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, seek out feedback, or pivot your strategy if needed. Stay curious, stay motivated, and keep learning.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I am open to partnering or collaborating with designers who share my passion for creating unique and high-quality jewelry. I am looking for designers who have experience in creating fine jewelry and have a strong understanding of design aesthetics, materials, and production processes.
If you are a designer who is interested in collaborating with me, I would love to hear from you. You can connect with me through my website or social media channels.
Together, we can create a fine jewelry collection that embodies my brand’s vision and reflects our shared passion for creativity, quality, and innovation. I am excited about the possibilities and look forward to hearing from you.
