We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Claire Candy Hough. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Claire Candy below.
Claire Candy, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Twenty-one years ago, before I had my transformative spiritual awakening through my angelic Walk-In experience, I could not comprehend the depth and hidden treasure of my authentic, singular being and my unique abilities. In fact, I could not fathom how being ‘different’ was my secret weapon, enabling me to not only succeed but thrive in all areas of my life. This went against familial programming and societal pressures that taught many of us to conform, to be like everyone else and not to stand out. Part of that conditioning was that we were taught to suppress our individuality and diminish our natural abilities. By quashing these to create and to make manifest our uniqueness in physical form, we denied who we are and diminished feeling successful within. Once I turned my focus from merely reacting to what ‘randomly’ showed up in my external world, to going within and carefully choosing positive, optimistic thoughts, emotions and beliefs that elicited excitement and passion within me, I began to create the life I most desired to manifest.
This was such a transformative way of being and it became very evident in the way that life began to reflect the energies I held within. For instance, years ago, I had such low self-worth and felt that I was not as good as everyone else. As a result of perpetuating this lower frequency energy of unworthiness within, I was invisible to myself. When I was among a group of people, at a party, for example, this resulted in others treating me as if I was invisible, and they would quickly make excuses to vacate, ending my attempts at conversation.
Once I began to realize that my external world was only a reflection of my inner world, I focused on encouraging, supportive praise for my unique strengths and wonderful qualities, instead of denigrating myself. Afterwards, I received a totally different reflection. Armed with this new energy, I experienced that when I walked into a room, people naturally gravitated to me, and were interested and curious to find out more about me.
The greatest change within was that I realized that having been born as a reflection of God Source Creator, I am whole, effective, and successful at being me. In fact, in all the Universe, through all space, time and dimensions there is no other energetic signature like me. By embracing that uniqueness instead of fighting against it and trying to be like anyone else, I encouraged my natural ability to shine and project an aura of positivity. It was then that I realized that the moment we turn our attention outside of ourselves to receive recognition as to whether we are successful, external forces start to impose their ideas of what success means. We often look to the outside world to not only determine whether we are worthy of being who we are, but also to justify our very existence in the first place. Once we realize that we are effective and successful just being ourselves, we start to flow from within and put our focus on creating and expanding this uniqueness that we have been blessed with.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
When asked to share the unusual story about myself, rather than describing it as a profession or purely from my Angel Healing House business point of view, the best overall description I can share is that 21 years ago, I, Angel Ariel, re-incarnated in Claire Candy’s body on a mission to be of Divine service to help humanity to reconnect and live from their Divine eternal natures. To serve others, one must first honor and respect the Divine within themselves, by living conscious lives of awareness passionately bringing forth our gifts and talents that we co-created with God to be seeded in our soul. Many stop themselves because they are trying to figure out their passion rather than having the faith to live it. My mission is to help others to feel abundant by creatively and enthusiastically pursuing their passions, which opens them to receive magical opportunities and connections that promote, encourage, and support them bringing forth the fulfillment of their dreams.
In 2003, after receiving my Master/Teacher Degrees in two forms of Reiki Energy Healing, the traditional Japanese Usui system and the Egyptian Sechem Sekhem discipline, I went on to create my Angel Healing House Healing Practice, where I passionately pursue this mission as a Spiritual Teacher, an Intuitive Counselor, a clairvoyant Tarot Card Reader, Angel Practitioner, and through Past Life Healings and Ancestral Clearing Sessions, along with teaching all levels of Reiki, including the Master/Teacher level and teaching Tarot. I have also recently completed an Emotional Codes course which helps my clients to remove emotional blocks that prevent them from attaining certain goals, whether financial, career, health or relationship goals or any other area of their life. And these blocks can be removed from generations past and prevent them from being passed on to future generations as well – it’s very powerful. Some of the ways that I have shared my channeled messages from my angelic family, The Posse of Angels, is through my Angel Healing House Blog Talk Radio Show, which ran for 12 years (archived shows can still be accessed), my Claire Candy Hough YouTube channel, interviews and through writing.
I am also a two-time #1 Amazon Bestselling International author. My first book, Angels of Faith is based on my two near-death experiences and addresses the fact that we do not die, as we are Divine and eternal and therefore live on as Spirit. My second book, the novel One True Home-Behind the Veil of Forgetfulness shares with readers my 5 most important past lives. They were most important as I grew the most spiritually and when I chose to exit those incarnations, I describe what I did in Heaven across the veil as Spirit before I chose to experience another human life. My next novel, I Am an Angelic Walk-In, The Autobiography of Angel Ariel is the sequel to One True Home and chronicles that life of Claire Candy and how she came to experience that destined day on January 11, 2003 when her soul walked out of her body, and I, Angel Ariel walked in to take over her responsibilities and to be of service to humanity.
I am also one of the executive producers on the two Audible audiobooks of my novels and, along with professional voice over actors on the audiobook, I lend my voice to both the narrator and Angel Ariel. Whether it is through interviews or articles like this one, the sharing of the channeled angelic messages is always uplifting, enlightening, life-affirming, encouraging and positive.
What I find most exciting about my mission and being a conduit for God to work through is that before clients came to see me, they had a practical knowledge about the subject of spirituality but were not applying this knowledge to their lives and as such were experiencing physical and/or emotional issues. Once they were clear enough to address and have the strength and love within to release long-standing debilitating emotional issues through unconditional love and forgiveness, especially for themselves, they were able to take that knowledge and turn it into wisdom to not only help themselves, but to go on to help others.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Over two decades as a Healing Practitioner, I have seen a deepening of certain qualities within me that has spoken directly to the hearts of clients, bringing them back to self-love, and weaving a strong loyal and trusted bond of caring and concern for their welfare and well-being. Although there are many factors that go into establishing a strong client/healing practitioner bond, I would say that the most important for this bond to occur were acknowledgement, compassion, and loving kindness. I have heard countless times from clients, “I have never told this to anyone, but I feel so comfortable and safe to tell you something.” Many of my clients express this because they sense that I am not there to ‘fix’ them as they are not broken, and I am not there to change them, and they don’t need changing. I listen with an intent to acknowledge their story and the decisions and choices that have led them to this juncture in their life’s journey. I acknowledge without judgment for there is nothing to judge and, for deep healing to occur, the client must find their way to being as vulnerable as they possibly can. To accompany them along this journey, I too must make myself as vulnerable and open as possible. If I well up with tears when they are describing harrowing details of their lives and allow myself to cry, I allow my clients to see not just a competently trained healing practitioner but an empathetic very caring, vulnerable human being.
By acknowledging exactly where the client is in their physical and emotional journey of life as perfection for their soul’s highest growth, I do not enter sessions with expectations or attachments to rectifying or correcting a situation. Some of our best lessons come through our experiences of disease and contrast in our lives so that we will learn lessons and allow practical experience to be our best teacher. Knowing that all healing comes from within as it is a contract between the client and God Source Creator, I acknowledge my part as a conduit for this to occur, but I am not doing the healing. In this way, I give the power back to my clients for their own healing by taking responsibility and creating a more beneficial and fulfilling life for themselves.
The next important quality for a healing practitioner is to have compassion and not just empathy for one’s clients. Empathy is feeling another person’s pain, whereas compassion is taking action to relieve the suffering of others. The energies created by the compassion of a kind word or gesture can have such a tremendous effect on the physical and emotional wellness of a client. Understanding based on compassion is critical to the relationship between a healing practitioner and a client. When this bond is established, clients feel secure and the distance between the practitioner and the client becomes shorter and the bond grows stronger.
For instance, for those clients who have experienced a Reiki Energy session with me, I know that some of the after-effects can occur and be felt the next day. This is why I give them a follow-up call the day after their treatment to see how they are and if they have any questions. This shows a level of compassionate concern for their well-being that goes beyond their paid session time.
And the third quality is loving kindness which is a persistent, unselfish and unconditional tenderness toward others. Loving kindness is an openheartedness that is not bound only by our own needs, but strives to also support everyone’s inherent capacity to flourish and be well. Sir William Osler, influential physician and one of the founders of Johns Hopkins Hospital stated, “To serve the art of medicine as it should be served, one must love his fellow man.” To embrace this quality as a Healing Practitioner one must develop a generosity of spirit and feel an intrinsic deep commitment of being so integrally linked with the well-being of another that transcends self-centered motivations such as financial incentives or seeking praise and recognition.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
A book that has had a great impact on my development both professionally and personally is Walden: Life in the Woods by Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau abandoned society in 1845 and built himself a home on Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts where he lived for two years. Thoreau said that he learned from the experiment that if one advances confidently in the direction of their dreams and they endeavor to live the life which they have imagined, they will meet with success in unexpected ways. I have often stated that for our wishes to come true, we need to fearlessly live the dreams of our imagination and then take inspired action to then build the strong, grounded foundation for those imagined dreams to physically manifest and to grow.
Thoreau also implored us to live in congruence with nature. This goes counter to what our modern world tells us is important and programs us to wish to attain money, fame, and material possessions.
There are many who live quiet lives of desperation who have forgotten the importance of the rhythms of Mother Nature and the ebb and flow of God’s intricate handiwork; something that all native cultures who thrived and prospered were well aware of.
Probably his most famous quote is “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
In my channeled novel, One True Home, Behind the Veil of Forgetfulness I speak about how, when we all cross over and stand in front of the Etheric Council to go over our contract that we wrote in our book of life for our physical incarnation, the thing that we will most regret is that we stopped ourselves from living consciously, from living deliberately and going in the direction that our hearts wished to journey.
