We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Claudia Box a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Claudia , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
No matter what I’ve faced in life, one thing I’ve known to be true is that God will always make a way. My optimism stems from my faith. I went from leaving my home at 17 years old, to having my first child at 20 while being financially unstable for a while, to becoming married with 2 children, a homeowner and business owner. I never looked at my circumstances in those moments with defeat. I always knew that God had better plans for me and my family and that we would experience better days. I believe that when you do the best you can with what you know and never stop searching for more, the doors of opportunity will open. I am not easily intimidated by the trials of life because I know that God is backing me and is always on my side.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My passion is helping others to build their financial situations and their faith. I’m in the financial service industry. I love showing people the tools available to them when it comes to saving, building an inheritance for their family/children, and the steps to saving up for a happy retirement. I lacked so much financial information growing up and being apart of this field fueled me to want to help others who came from similar backgrounds to break free from the poverty mindset and take the steps to building a better financial future. I recently launched my guided prayer journal line called Chresure Box. I wanted to grow my prayer life while giving others a way to grow theirs as well. Chresure Box is also an outreach where I help to supply women who are in financial crises get access to free menstrual products. So far I’ve been able to partner with an outreach called the House of Hope who’s mission is to help women struggling with addiction or abuse.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I definitely know that my faith played a huge impactful role in my journey. I never lost hope even in the midst of adversity. I know that God’s plans for me are Huge and He is always guiding me. I would say that the other 2 qualities are my abilities to push hard to achieve my dreams and patience. Sometimes it can seem like everyone else is reaching their goals so much faster than you are, but when you have patience and know that your time is coming it allows you to give yourself grace and operate in your own timing. The best advice I can give to anyone early in their journey would be to never get discouraged along the way. Things may not always go as planned but God is always by your side and He is constantly opening doors and bringing people across our path to help us on our journeys. I would also stress the importance of consistency. Stay persistent and consistent. Have a clear vision of what you are trying to achieve and take daily baby steps to get there. A win is a win no matter how small!
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book that played an important role in my development was called The Law of Confession: Revolutionize you life and Rewrite your future with the power of words by Bill Winston. It was the first time I had read a book that talked about how transforming your thinking transforms your life.
What we speak and come into agreement with helps to determine our destiny.
