Meet Clint Schwabedissen

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Clint Schwabedissen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Clint, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I have an extremely high tolerance for pain and resilience. Looking back, I believe it comes down to two different principles.

The first principle is self-accountability. Everything that happens to me, good or bad, is ultimately based upon decisions I’ve made. We are the common denominator for everything that happens in our life. For some, that can be depressing, but it drives me to know that I can do anything or switch my life around. Applying this to business is the same thing.

The second principle is always finish what you start. I grew up in a competitive household. I’m the youngest of two sisters and a brother. Both my sister and brother grew up to be Washington State Soccer Champions. I decided to play as well. I was playing for ten years and became burned out. I was in the middle of a season when I told my parents I wanted to quit. However, I remember my parents telling me that was never an option, and “We always finish what we start no matter how much we hate it or not.” I continued that season, went to the Washington State Finals, and took that lesson with me ever since.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I first want to show my appreciation for this outlet to allow me to share more about myself, my work, and my business.

My name is Clint Schwabedissen, and I am a Celebrity Video Director. I direct and produce digital and commercial videos for celebrities and businesses. My work ranges from social media to commercial video production.

So, if you’re a business that’s looking to expand your brand, increase customer retention, and generate new business leads through commercial video marketing…you can contact me directly at clint@dbcdigitalusa.com.

I have been blessed to have worked with talents such as Dave Chappelle, Alo Yoga, Khalid, AT&T, Kevin Hart, Harper’s Bazaar, Sienna Mae Gomez, KRS-One, Svedka Vodka, Deorro, Gizzle, P-Lo, Sarunas Jackson, Johann Vera, and the list goes on.

The most exciting aspect, we are helping businesses achieve sales results. The wonderful thing about video is it allows companies to connect with potential and current customers emotionally. That emotion ultimately leads to action. The action that creates revenue.

DBC Digital is in the business of solving problems, not selling our time. Providing marketing departments with tangible results is our number one priority.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Speaking of business, three areas of knowledge are lead generation, paid by the problem, and outreach.

1.) Lead Generation

You should never have a bottleneck in your business when it comes to lead generation. The internet states that the average amount of leads a business has is 150 a day. It’s going to be extremely difficult to make any sales if you don’t have enough leads.

Looking back now, I wish I had bought business leads sooner. For those that are new, you can go onto websites like Fiverr, and hire someone to gather business leads for you. Whether that be a list of 1,000 emails or even phone numbers to call.

The first thing I would use my money on is to hire someone to do lead generation.

2.) Paid By The Problem

You generally get paid by the size of the problem you are solving. So, if you want to make more money, you have to solve a bigger problem.

For example, I used to sell video services to small bands that would come into town. I would film their performance, and give them a polished edit. However, I quickly realized that filming an underground band didn’t pay as well as producing a video for a Fortune 400 company.

My main focus is solving problems for celebrities or corporations because they usually have the biggest problem with reaching their large customer base.

Another gem is never to charge a client by the hour, but by the problem you are solving. You’re not selling the customer on your time. You’re selling a customer the solution to their problem. For example, you don’t see too many real estate agents get paid by the number of hours it took them to sell a home.

3.) Outreach

This one is fairly simple. Learning different outreach methods and automation is important. I’ve developed an email marketing automation that uses ChatGPT and sends out dozens of cold emails to customers. Of course, it is heavily tailored.

However, getting familiar with different ways to do outreach is vital. Whether that be cold emails, cold calls, or digital advertising.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a few moments to take a deep breath and reevaluate my to-do list. I feel lucky to have had great examples in my life. They taught me the importance of controlling my emotions, so I typically push through the tough times to complete my to-do list.

I believe it can cause large problems if we live every day based on the way we feel. For example, I used to go about my day thinking, “I don’t think I’m as happy as I was yesterday…”. Then my focus would shift from what I needed to do to how do I get back to that state. However, I quickly learned that is the wrong way of thinking. Every day is going to be different, and unless we are in a very dark hole, then we have nothing to worry about.

Not letting my emotions control my day is how I overcome feeling overwhelmed. If we live our life based upon our emotions we are going to be a raft in a storm. Going every which way the storm decides to direct us.
