Curstin , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
When i first got into the industry i felt like this is something that I felt shy at. I felt like I couldn’t just come in the camera and act. Acting isn’t something that comes natural it takes time and practice. And for me to try to adjust to the industry as a first comer it was hard. But the more I I kept putting myself in front of the camera the more comfortable I have gotten. It took me a couple sets to get comfortable but I managed to over come the fear of shyness. I’m blessed that ever since I over come the shyness I have elevated alot more than I thought. And it’s a blessing that I got where I’m am today. Because if it wasn’t for me to put the time and effort to put myself in front of the camera I wouldn’t be here where I’m am today. So I’m thankful that I have gotten over the shyness to be able to elevate the way I did.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is curstin Andrews. I’m an Atlanta actor, film director, brand ambassador, and content creator for comedy skits. Being able to give the world entertainment and have fun doing its the best thing I could ever imagine doing. With me being inspired and motivated by the world most famous comedian kountry Wayne he motivated me to keep striving for greatness and do what I love to do for a living which is act. I have paid attention to him and his cast do skits all day everyday and it really got me to do my own skits and create a story line. Making a mark to my name is just an amazing feeling especially when I want it to go global worldwide. Being able to show people what I can do with my craft has impressed a lot of people and actually want them to join me. Not only I’m creating comedy skits I’m building the skits with my cast members to also create an entertainment production. Ever since I been in the industry I dreamed to have my own production like kountry Wayne and Tyler Perry. Everytime I see how well they are doing in life makes me want to keep going and reach to the top as well. I want to thank all the fans that has supported me through from the bottom until where I’m now and I want to keep gaining supporters out through my whole entire career. I would have never been this far creating such great moments without the cast members I have in my circle today. I believe that with me being inspirational to people I keep other people to never give up and always keep your head up and try again when something u can’t seem to get right the first 2nd or third try.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being able to inspire and motivate people. And give a great impact to the community. Especially all the children out there are trying to become upcoming actresses and actors or wanting to be actors and actresses. Well what can I say about for the upcoming actors and actresses start off by researching some Instagram pages that has background/extra work to get your feet wet because starting in the industry is not a walk in the park it takes time and dedication to get where you want to be and that’s a famous superstar that is rich. Make sure to also keep being consistent and staying in the grind. Because it is easy to lose focus and get distracted from what you are doing and things can easily go down hill because of that reason. Look for an acting school that will teach you the fundamentals on scene study and character breakdown and script reading. Those are the most important things you will need to become a successful actor or actress. Make sure to look for the scams as well because this industry is easily influenced to persuade you to sign anything. Everything they say may sound good but it’s always a catch to it. Get someone to read over it. Take step by step at a time don’t rush to get to a speaking role just because you see others are at that level. Take your time at your own pace don’t force it. Your time will come it took dedication to get speaking roles. Practice practice practice on acting it doesn’t matter if you with your family have them act some lines and you act your lines. Make sure to know what the character is feeling. Because you have to bring that character to life. And when you act being our emotions even if you have to use your hands to signify emotions. Show the emotions because that’s one of the major things directors are looking for in acting.
