Meet Curtis Chase

We recently connected with Curtis Chase and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Curtis, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Straight up, I get it from my Dad. He’s a winemaker and has created a very successful business completely on his own. It’s been inspiring to watch him grow his career from such a young age. He’s instilled in me a work ethic and drive like no other. For that, I’m eternally grateful and I would’t be on the path I am and as hungry as I am without him I think. His wine is called Sans Liege (www.sansliege.com), check it out!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello! Okay shameless self promotion time here we go. Hi my name is Curtis Chase and I’m an actor, content creator, and stand up comedian. You can currently watch me on Tubi’s Feng Shui Your Life or on National Commercials for H&R Block, Quickbooks, and the US Census Bureau. My satirical comedy videos have gotten over 20 million views and 12k+ followers across social media @curtiswillsaveyou. Also I perform live all around LA, like at The Comedy Store or Hollywood Improv (another humble brag), and I’ve shared my solo show, Organized Chaos, to sold out crowds in LA and NY. Right now, I’m continuing to grow on social media and have a couple exciting projects in development!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say the recipe to success that I’ve seen for people in the entertainment industry does boil down to three things. #1 is a strong drive/work ethic. You’ve got to keep grinding, keep working on your craft, keep getting better. It’s hard but only you can make yourself the very best! #2 is resilience. It’s no shocker that this career is hard and you will get a 1000 no’s before that yes. That’s where the resilience and self worth comes into play. If you never give up, you’ll already beat out 75% of the competition! And #3 would have to be luck. There is a degree of right place/right time with all this. This is totally out of your control but knowing that luck is an element does give you hope. It also lets you be as PREPARED as possible so that when luck does strike, you’ll be ready to catch it.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Truly, I think the best thing when I’m feeling overwhelmed is to go connect with nature! I know, I know this sounds hippy dippy. But genuinely, especially if you’re an artist in a major city, reconnecting with your authentic self and nature is so important. It always makes me feel better and like, i don’t know that life is really going to be okay.
