Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dani Perro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dani , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I got my work ethic from working at a young age. I previously started working at 16. I had worked some fast food restaurants and learned how to talk fast, work fast and even multi-task a lot. Truly, with working in fast food or retail, it’s all different mind set, meaning It’s honestly all about the customers and having a connection with them. My work ethic grew from me working in food and shortly after office settings. Now, with me being a radio show host, currently I love talking and interacting with people all the time. Though, with talking and getting to know people, that is how I am able to create long lasting connections. It’s always important to maintain a positive mindset and focus on working harder to achieve your goals and to further your potential in life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
During weeknights, beginning every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm EST, tune in live to The Dani Perro Show on hamiltonradio.net. My show encompasses the likes of many different talented
stars from Disney channel, Nickelodeon, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, and so many others! In
addition to those, I have had incredibly successful musicians such as Soma Chhaya, Domini Monroe,
Ashely Wineland, Kendra Erika, Sorelle and American Idol’s Justin Guarini! My show is not just limited
to famous celebrities and artists. I have had successful authors from local business owners on it as well. I
realized, at a very young age, radio was my passion and something I wanted to pursue long term. I started
my radio show back in 2014 when I was just 18 years old.
My studio is based out of Hamilton Township which is located near Trenton, NJ. My father has owned
the radio station for almost thirty years now. I had previously worked my way up to being a radio disc
jockey. We are also broadcasting on 102 DLG radio aka iHeart Radio. All my shows broadcast live on
Facebook! We broadcast nationally and internationally. Being able to broadcast live on Facebook is a
tremendous asset because Facebook is a global social media platform, which alone reaches countless
people from all over the world! Whenever I have guests on my show, I always encourage viewers to leave
comments in the “comment area” on Facebook so that my guests can answer them live on air. I also
greatly encourage my followers to let me know by sending me a message who they wish to see me speak
with in my future interviews!
Starting my radio hosting career at such a young age is not something everyone can say. Many years have
gone by, and I have learned a great deal about what it means to be a successful radio host. I think my
background in musical theater has helped me when it comes to interviewing my guests on my show. I
have developed great interviewing techniques over the many years as well. The one thing that I like to
always say when it comes to interviewing people is that it is absolutely imperative that you keep your
guests engaged at all times. When your guests lose interest in your show, then your audience loses
interest, which is never a good thing.
Being a radio host, there come many other responsibilities. You should always be willing and ready to ask
questions. Before every show, I always have a list of different types of questions to ask my guests.
Making sure the equipment that I have is always up to date is equally important. It’s important to
remember to never to solely rely on technology. Something I learned is that you should always count on
things going wrong from time to time. In my musical theatre career, it is also true to always improvise
when someone forgets a line or is late to run on for a scene. You should always be prepared for the
unexpected. The same applies to the radio industry. If I have a cancelation one night, I always try and find
someone to fill that vacancy. If someone is running a little late to my show, I do my best to try and
accommodate for lost time. It is also very important to me that we end on time because even my guests
have other things to attend to as well as myself.
Before I say farewell to all you beautiful people, I would personally like to thank the following people.
Firstly, my father, owner of Hamilton Radio, Doc. G. He has always seen me for me and believed in me
every step of the way. He loves me so much and he’s so proud of me and where I came from. He is the
best father I could have asked for. Secondly, I want to thank Reuben, Doc G’s Co-Owner of Hamilton
Radio. Reuben has coached me and taught me countless things these past few years. He has told me what
to say and not to say when on air and not on air. He has been such a great person and great mentor to me
and I’m very thankful for all of his help. Thirdly, I would like to thank my agent, Denise Monroe. She has
helped me so much these past few months with elevating my career and rebranding my image and I am so
thankful for all her advice and support. Lastly, I could never say thank you enough to my
manager/boyfriend, Christopher Tsarouhas. He has given me faith in myself and always sees my full
potential even when I have trouble seeing it for myself. He books all my shows for me. We also have a
great line of communication when having guests on my show. I am blessed for all of his love and support.
He is extremely organized and always has anything I need at a moment’s notice! For anyone who wants
to contact him, this is his email: [email protected]. I also now have my very own Blinq
QR code that gives all my fans access to follow me on all my social media platforms! Just scan it with
your smart phone and come follow me!
I also always like to think that my show has a positive impact on my guests, especially my viewers. The
message I vigorously try to convey is always live life to the fullest and to love life. All of our journeys are
unique, and each tells a personal story. Mine is simple. I preach nothing but good vibes and happiness.
Being true to yourself and doing the things that you love to do is part of my journey and part of my
mantra. Always put your mind to do whatever it is that you want to do. Never give up and never listen to
those who tell you can’t achieve greatness. Be willing to take risks. Those risks can even sometimes turn
into our greatest successes in life. Be who you are and nothing less and nothing more. Be happy at what
you do and love what you do! That is my message. That is my story. Stay beautiful everyone!
