Meet Daniel Chiang

We were lucky to catch up with Daniel Chiang recently and have shared our conversation below.

Daniel , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I attribute my strong work ethic to both my family, particularly my older brother, who is a successful entrepreneur and dedicated ten years of his life to building his company, and the inspiration I draw from individuals like Kobe Bryant. Witnessing my older brother’s journey in the entrepreneurial world, dedicating a decade of relentless effort to make his company successful, has been a profound influence on my work ethic. He demonstrated unwavering determination, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to excellence throughout his entrepreneurial endeavors. His dedication and perseverance have instilled in me a deep appreciation for hard work and the patience required to achieve success in the competitive business landscape.

Furthermore, Kobe Bryant, a legendary athlete and a symbol of determination and resilience, has been a significant influence on my work ethic. I’ve admired his relentless pursuit of greatness, his continuous drive to improve, and his ability to overcome challenges. Bryant’s “Mamba Mentality” has taught me the importance of discipline, preparation, and putting in the extra effort to achieve one’s goals, principles that I have seen reflected in my brother’s entrepreneurial journey.

Combining the values instilled by my family, particularly my entrepreneurial older brother who dedicated a decade to building his company, and the inspirational examples set by individuals like Kobe Bryant, I’ve adopted a strong work ethic that fuels my motivation and propels me to give my best in every entrepreneurial endeavor I undertake.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a passionate freelance filmmaker and content creator, driven by the art of storytelling. With nearly 7 years of experience in the industry, my journey began in the US, where I immersed myself in the world of film for almost 3 years, refining my craft and gaining invaluable experiences.

From my early days in college, the magic of film and video captured my heart. This enchantment has grown into an enduring love, fueling my endeavors. It’s this love that prompted the creation of DDS Film Studio, a place where we weave narratives that resonate—a dance between imagination and emotion. From heartfelt commercials to music videos that stir the soul, and short films that provoke thought, we aim to leave a lasting imprint.

In the fast-paced realm of digital media, I’ve harnessed the potential of social media platforms to reach a broader audience. My YouTube channel, ‘Daniel Chiang,’ is a canvas where I paint tutorials infused with storytelling, enabling budding filmmakers to navigate their creative journeys.

Beyond the tutorials, I utilize platforms like Instagram and TikTok to craft and share snippets of life in cinematic hues. Here, narrative reigns supreme, touching the hearts of viewers and inspiring fellow filmmakers. As part of my commitment to nurturing talent, I’ve ventured into selling digital products—resources that encapsulate not just knowledge, but the essence of storytelling. Through presets, exclusive content, and educational resources, my aim is to empower emerging creators, enabling them to infuse their narratives with heart and depth.

My cinematic odyssey continues, fueled by a dedication to create narratives that don’t just entertain but resonate, stories that find a cozy corner in the hearts of all who experience them

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
consistency, consistency, consistency!

I think throughout my journey only quality is the most important skill and the quality that helped me the most is being consistent in the things I love.

No matter it’s for my filmmaking career or the content creator career that I just started. Just need to keep showing up no matter what you have been through and what you feel in the moment.

So the suggestion that I would give to the people we just strart their journey or carrer, is to be consistency for what you like and what you love, and don’t stop !

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my most notable area of growth and improvement has undoubtedly been in my social media presence and engagement. Specifically, I’ve experienced significant expansion across various platforms, marking a substantial increase in my reach and influence.

Starting in March, my Instagram follower count stood at 700. Since then, I’ve witnessed exceptional growth, culminating in an impressive following of 35,000 followers by September. This substantial increase reflects my dedication to creating compelling content that resonates with my audience and engages them on a meaningful level.

Simultaneously, my YouTube channel has seen a remarkable rise, climbing from a modest 200 subscribers in March to a thriving community of 6,200 subscribers today. This growth underscores my commitment to producing high-quality, informative, and engaging video content that captures and retains the attention of viewers.

Additionally, my presence on TikTok has seen exponential growth, starting from ground zero and surging to an almost 20,000-strong following by September. This journey has honed my skills in crafting short, attention-grabbing content that appeals to the TikTok audience, ultimately contributing to the substantial increase in my follower base.

Overall, this experience has not only showcased my ability to adapt to the dynamics of various social media platforms but has also enhanced my content creation skills, audience engagement strategies, and understanding of social media algorithms. These accomplishments are a testament to my determination, creativity, and relentless pursuit of growth and improvement in the digital landscape.
