Meet Daniela Perez-Reyes

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daniela Perez-Reyes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daniela below.

Daniela , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I feel that in Bussiness you are constantly overcoming imposter syndrome. If you are an entrepreneur you will face this feeling again an again. However , one has to be able to look back into reality and stop the that narrative in you head. Realized how far you have come , look back into your experience and into all the work that you have done to be where you are at right now. When I feel overwhelmed with the impostor syndrome narrative I go back to this mantra: “ If I wasn’t ready I wouldn’t be placed in this position and wouldn’t be given these business opportunities.”

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Im Chef Daniela from Mara Bleu Caters. I named my company after my grandmother Mara because she thought me how to cook. My very first memories in the kitchen are with her. We are a small catering company that takes pride in serving California fresh foods. We use a combination of styles to create , beautiful yet tasty dishes. Using the best , sustainable and local ingredients within possibility. We also take pride on providing an impecable service from presentation to clean up. We take care of dietary needs as well.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I feel it is imperative for such candidate to be ready to learn and work the field first. I believe that without experience one is navigating a semi blind field. To achieve mastery and to be able to perform in a articulated way you must have been there and done that multiple times. So when the time comes to come across a difficulty in such field you already know what to do and how to respond efficiently. Saving your self from looking like a rookie.
