Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danielle Kloberdanz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Danielle, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
The path towards uncovering my deeper purpose started over ten years ago with the acknowledgement that I wasn’t truly happy. Sure, I had a great husband, four healthy children, and lived in a great neighborhood. But, parenting was much harder and, as difficult as it was to admit, not as fulfilling as I had hoped it would be. I felt guilty about that, but I sensed that there was something more out there for me to pursue. Something that would inspire me and bring me more joy. I wanted to discover who I was beyond my identity as a mom. I just had no idea what it was and how to find it. What I did know was that I longed for solitude. So, that’s where I started. I claimed regular blocks of time for myself to do something for me, like reading books on spirituality and psychology, painting and drawing, or going for long walks. Part of me thought this was selfish, but I learned quickly that filling my own well allowed me to better handle the daily challenges of raising a large family. It became easier to give to others when they needed me without feeling drained all the time. Along the way I learned to tune into my inner compass to help me find out what is truly inspiring, meaningful and fulfilling.
This process of exploration ultimately led me to publishing my first book, Inner Compass Mom, in 2021, and starting my own company, Inner Compass Living. Now, I am an author, a life coach, I lead a book club, and I guide support groups for moms. I definitely found my passion and purpose in bringing people together to inspire and educate, and in individual life coaching. I’ve been able to pursue this exciting path while also raising my family.
It’s truly amazing what can happen when you learn to tune into and follow your inner compass.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Danielle Kloberdanz. I’m a life coach and I am the published author of Inner Compass Mom: Finding Peace and Purpose in the Midst of Motherhood.
I’m fascinated with people’s lives and how pattern’s appear to repeat themselves within individual lives and also between generations. A big part of my coaching style is to recognize these patterns, unravel them, and help my client break unhealthy ones. This is one of the ways new and healthier paths open up for my clients. And, because I have four children of my own, I know the challenges moms face in today’s world. After many years of learning much about self-help and mindset tools, I am grateful I can share them with others.
Besides my love for coaching people individually, I love bringing people together. One way I do this is through my book club, which is really much more than a space to discuss books on spirituality and self-development. Our meetings easily go into topics that are beyond the scope of the book. This is such an inspiring way to get to know each other and inspire and support one another.
Another way for me to bring people together is through my support groups. This is where people have the opportunity to share in a confidential setting. I believe that there’s nothing more healing than when we know we are not alone in our challenges. I especially believe that there’s not enough support for moms today. Some of the challenges we face as moms in today’s world are uncharted territory. This affects our own mental health and our children’s. This is why I believe it’s important to come together and support each other.
I’m excited to share that I’m currently working on a journal which will have quotes throughout for daily inspiration and encouragement. It’s more than just a journal though. First of all, it contains a short guide to help people get the most out of journaling. Second, it offers writing prompts to choose from to help you get started. And, last but not least, at the end of the journal there is a page dedicated to creating your very own Why Not List. This list will help you with increasing your inspiration and joy in life. If you are curious about this list, you can find out more in my book Inner Compass Mom. I’m expected to publish this journal sometime this summer.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey of awakening, I’d have to say that the first quality that comes to mind has to do with honoring what I sense I need. That’s how I started my journey. I listened to a desire to pursue greater happiness and fulfillment for myself. This is how I navigate my life now. I tune into myself regularly to sense what I need or long for and then I make sure I honor that however best I can, while still taking care of my responsibilities.
The second would be my curiosity about how to increase one’s inspiration and fulfillment. It was this curiosity that led me to read many books on spirituality and psychology which gave me many new insights and inspiration on my path. Now, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with others through my book Inner Compass Mom, my coaching practice, my local and virtual book club, and other ways of connecting with people.
The third is my persistence on my journey to greater inner peace and joy in my life. Life will always be filled with challenges, but as I continue to pursue situations that inspire me, it’s easier to get back to a sense of calm every time I am faced with another challenge.
My advice for anyone on their journey is to continue to listen to your heart’s desires. Stay curious and open-minded and be persistent in the pursuit of greater fulfillment and inner peace. Trust your inner compass.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who knows that they can’t go on the way they have been, because whatever is happening in their lives right now is no longer working for them. My clients are in search of clarity and encouragement to help them make positive next steps. A certain level of self awareness and insights into their mental world are a plus when it comes to successful coaching. My clients understand that healing and changes can happen in different ways and in different timeframes and they are open to different approaches.
