Meet David Schaefer

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful David Schaefer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

David , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I always believed in giving always 100%. No matter if I was being a waiter at fancy events or in the music studio, model job, or acting job, I always try to give my very best and have fun on the job or with whatever I do. I have in my family circle and also in my friend list people who are very successful and I could fortunately learn from them a lot for my path which I’m very grateful for. I believe we can all learn from each other. Naturally I’m also someone who is almost a perfectionist which can be sometimes a good thing or a bad thing. You somehow never satisfied and always try to be better. Sometimes you gotta accept you can only give your best everything else is often not in your hands.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am how some friends and industry people call me a triple threat artist. I am an actor model and singer who loves art so much.
I started in a Disney band with a major record label.
I was also 10 years international traveling as a model and was acting on film set for a ww1 movie or a Uk gangster drama movie.
You can find me also on the cover of men’s health magazine which is so surreal to me because I was sick as a child. Life is sometimes strange and we never know what can happen.
It’s a fun job and you never know what happens next as an artist.
I love giving back and today I share my knowledge and wisdom with other young aspiring artists.
Currently I’m working with an top hit producer team on new music for my solo career and also started writing a second book. I have written a memoir about my life but decided to change the book into a more uplifting book for others to read. The time I have written this book I was more in a dark place in life which would not be helpful to others. I don’t want people get depressed lol
I am naturally a positive person and always try to make a positive impact.
I also have a great acting agent who is sending me some great auditions and castings. Also great model agents who help me getting some great castings. I’m very grateful for the help I got from my team and for the whole journey so far. I learned a lot about myself and others.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think I was always a good communicator and also very good in finding ways to network with people. I’m always trying to see the positive in even a negative situation.
I read many marketing books and psychology books which help me to learn about myself and others more which then helped me to do better business decisions as Well.
My advice for younger and older aspiring artists entrepreneurs etc is learn from your mistakes because you will do so many mistakes it’s normal. When your young you are more naive and feel you know it better. I am not today the person I was 10 years ago. I made a 360 spin I had too.
I disappointed a lot of people on my journey without realizing it because I was so young and naive.
It’s important to have tenacity never give up and enjoy the process and the journey with your team or alone. . If you fail or disappoint people or yourself I learned it’s normal it’s life . We live and we learn. No one is perfect.
Just never give up and have joy with your art or craft you are developing . Having fun is so important. Success is never guaranteed you can only give your best. If you have fun it’s your personal success.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
I think clearly one of the best books and his journey helped me to overcome a lot in life. David Goggins Book Cant Hurt Me.
I was always someone who never gave up who accepted pain and suffering due to my own sick child hood having a heart defect and spending times in hospitals . Later being bullied etc.

David showed me that you can go through hell like he did a lot more than me not men.
