Debbie , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Discovering my purpose as a Psychic Medium has been a long road, and a deeply personal and transformative journey. While everyone’s path is unique, there are common experiences that many Psychic Mediums go through in their quest to understand and embrace their purpose which entails a life of service while serving Spirit and others.

My unique story centers on the concepts of of worthiness and learning to love myself, embracing the true essence of who I am after denying it for many years and finally embracing it after a stress induced mental and emotional breakdown. I am a professional Psychic Medium, but it would take me close to twenty years before I fully embraced and accepted that title and concept of who I am, know I am worthy of it, and own it loud and proud.

My life is nothing the way I thought it would be or as I envisioned it to be. I pictured myself being a wife, a mom, having a couple of kids and a family dog. Hence, my soul had other plans for this lifetime or incarnation. I was a Kindergarten and First Grade special education teacher for 23 years. Looking back now, being a teacher was my “place card” so to speak. It held my space or life purpose just like a place card at an event holds your table space until I was ready to own and embrace my own Mediumship gifts, talents, and abilities on a full time professional level.

I became aware of Spirit around age six. I would go to bed at night and ask my Mom to close my closet door because “people” would come out of the closet. I now know these “people” to be beautiful, deceased loving Spirits. I was always very curious about the afterlife, God, etc. I had very vivid dreams about my deceased loved ones who always looked better than ever and they were always full of love. I could feel that immense love, and it was a type of love different from the kind of love we know and experience here in the physical world. It’s a kind of love that is an unconditional love, a loving state of being that is constant, it exists all the time. We do not understand that type of love here in the physical realm. It’s very similar to the type of love our pets give to us.

In my twenties I became more curious than ever about the Afterlife, and started reading books on the subject. In my twenties I would frequently have my cards read by a local tarot reader. She and various other Mediums along the way told me I was going to do this work. I told them all, they were nuts! I was going to be a teacher.

Then in my early thirties I had a very challenging, heavy emotional experience (we all have them here in the physical world) we are supposed to experience them. The soul incarnates into the physical realm to evolve and grow in ways we are unable to do in Heaven, the Other Side or another dimension. however you would like to refer to it as. This emotional experience led me to a different local Medium. She put into perspective all of the emotional events that were going on in my life. Additionally, she ALSO tells me I have this gift. talent, ability to help others. She also answered all of my questions that I had been pondering for many years in regard to my own life and with Spirit experiences. I left that appointment feeling a deep sense of peace, ease and comfort. I also said to myself that if I truly do have this gift. talent, ability. I want to be able to help others the way she helped me. She made a profound impact on my life that day.

I decided to study with her. I took all of her workshops, classes and retreats. When I left her after a few years, I took other classes and started to seek out different mentors to help me understand and develop my abilities more. That lead me to eventually doing Mediumship readings for people out of my home for many years. When
I was ready, I eventually transitioned out of my home and read for people out of a small space offered to me by a friend. From there I went to a metaphysical bookstore to give readings, and for the next ten years while I was teaching by day, I would work nights and weekends as a Psychic Medium.

I had many issues along the way with my worthiness and loving myself and my life and while doing this work. Once I consciously made the effort and choice to stop the insanity of jamming the round peg( or situations and people in my life) into the square hole, I slowly, with baby steps started to learn how to love myself and understand my worth. To see that life is constantly happening for me and not to me. This has taken me on a journey I will frequently refer to as “surviving to thriving” I still continue to work on these concepts daily.

Over the span of my ten years of working nights and weekends my clientele began to grow and my passion and love to be in service to Spirit began to grow as well. I could feel a shift in my energy of wanting to immerse myself into my passion full time and leave my teaching position. The schedule of trying to balance two careers over this ten year span led me to feel run down and ill quite often. I couldn’t keep up. I tried. I was so scared to leave my teaching position of 23 years. I was falling apart on the inside. I couldn’t keep up with life mentally, emotionally, physically and energetically. I was unfocused, run down, exhausted which ultimately lead to a stress induced mental and emotional breakdown which would eventually be my breakthrough.

I took a leave of absence from my teaching position which gave me the clarity I needed. Soon after my leave many events and circumstances all fell into alignment easily and effortlessly. I wanted to explore the my passion on a full time basis. I wanted to see if I was worthy of it. loved myself enough to know I can and deserve to thrive and not just merely survive. The breakdown was my ” no brainer” answer. The path was clear, it was time to leave my full time career and start following my passion on a full time basis. This new leap of faith encompassed teaching others about death, dying and the grief and loss journey all while connecting them to their beautiful deceased loved ones in Spirit. I left my teaching career of 23 years in 2020, and I have not looked back. Spirit continues to bless me with incredible people who have open minds and open hearts and allow me to work with them. I am honored, blessed and beyond grateful to help them and ultimately be in service to Spirit. It took me 20 years, but I found my purpose and I continue to evolve on purpose on my path in order to to help others and myself.

Ultimately, finding my purpose as a Psychic Medium has been a continual process of self-discovery, growth, and exploration. It’s about embracing who I am, trusting in my intuition, and using my gifts, talents and abilities to bring comfort, healing, guidance, and insight to others struggling on their grief and loss journey. My purpose as a Psychic Medium continues to evolve and deepen over time as I continue to unfold, surrender, learn, grow, and serve others with love and compassion through my Mediumship.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Self Healing through meditation, therapy, journaling and reading. 2. Eating right, getting enough sleep- taking good care of me – mentally, emotionally, physically and mentally
3. Consistent studies with mentors, teachers, workshops and classes.

In your journey as a developing Psychic Medium, remember it is a slow unfoldment of your skills, talents and abilities. It is a journey that takes time, patience, dedication to yourself, and the Spirit world. It requires a lot of self discipline.

Remember to approach your unfoldment journey/ practice with patience, humility, and an open heart. Trust in your innate abilities, Surrender to the world of Spirit when you feel their presence and guidance. Trust the learning process, and remain dedicated to your self- growth and development. Stay connected to your spiritual practice, cultivate a supportive community of like-minded individuals, and above all, trust in the guidance and wisdom of the spirit world as you continue on your Mediumship journey.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
A book that has played an important role in my self development journey (because self healing is key in your process to being a good Medium) is the book titled: The Power by Rhonda Byrne. This book taught me the power of having and embedding a gratitude practice into my daily life.

This book explores the concept of harnessing the power of love to transform our lives and create the reality we desire. Here are some key nuggets of wisdom I took away from the book:

Gratitude, forgiveness, the power of intention, taking inspired action, living in the present moment, the power of love and the power and law of attraction all have a profound impact on our lives if we take the time to learn about them and slowly implement them into our daily lives, helping us to change our mindset and way of thinking over time. Change your thinking change your life! I did !!!

Overall, this book helped me understand the following concepts and how they can change my life for the better and the did!!!

transformative power of love, gratitude, forgiveness, intention, and inspired action to manifest their desires and live a life of joy, abundance, and fulfillment.
