Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deepika Haldankar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Deepika, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Purpose- It is generic but, at the same time, quite an intimate term. Purpose defines what we want to accomplish in the end. For me, It is finding my true self and sharing it through my work.
Growing up as an introvert, I sought refuge in anything creative.
When it was time to look for a new career, being a Creative Entrepreneur was an immediate answer. I wanted to spend the rest of my time creating Art. Photography was my choice of medium to represent my world.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Professional Photographer based in Chandler, AZ. I help small business promote their beautiful products through amazing images.
As an artist, I am drawn to visual storytelling, and photography is one of the essential tools to portray that story.
I provide various services, from Food Photography, Still Life Photography, and Product Photography. For me, photography is the joy of creating a memory. The intricate details of every subject, its colors, and textures make me explore more and capture them.
I focus on the client’s needs as a person and a business. I like to bring out the client’s vision through my photography. I am drawn to small businesses that have a unique story to tell. I genuinely believe that there is a story that needs to come out behind every brand.
In 2022, I took my love for photography a little further. I launched my online store for Fine Art Photography- DH Fine Art Photography. It is a place for owning one-of-a-kind Fine Art Photography prints. Your space is your own and a unique area that is personal to you. Whether it is your home, office, or commercial space, it has its energy surrounding it. Buying original art makes it more special as you bring distinctive art, which conveys who you are to the outside world. A store-bought piece is beautiful but is shared by many. By buying directly from an artist, you get an authentic piece owned by a selected few.
Currently, there are three collections available- Color, Black And White and Limited Edition Collection. The images in these collections are exclusive, and each has a little bit of me as an artist. I add digital paint strokes to the image, which gives it a surreal effect. They make gorgeous art for your home, office, or commercial space. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I have a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, which gave me a strong background in doing research. When I decided to switch to a new career, the knowledge of how to do research was useful.
But, the three most important qualities I feel newcomers need early on the journey are:
Curiosity- Patience- Perseverance
Learning any new skill or technique starts with curiosity about the subject or issue. Asking why and how- starts the process, which brings us to Patience.
It takes several trials and errors to get the answer.
People drop out at this stage because they give up on their quest to learn something new. And those who keep working on it need to be patient with themselves.
It brings us to Patience. Learning anything new will take time; during that journey, one needs to be patient with oneself and know that one day one will get what you are looking for.
And once you learn the skill, you need to Preserve it. Keep working on the newly gained skills and getting more proficient in them. Finally, the day will come when you are at a stage where you are recognized for your unique set of skills.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Over the years, many books have inspired me to start and keep working on my dreams and goals, but this one has left a lasting impact:
Alchemist By Paulo Coelho
I read Alchemist for the first time in 2017 and, since then, have directed my work and life around its principles. It gave me the courage to take the first step towards achieving my dreams and decide on my goals.
I always wanted to be an Artist, and Alchemist helped me to become one.
