Meet Deldric Bratcher

We recently connected with Deldric Bratcher and have shared our conversation below.

Deldric, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from God. God is the source of life; God is everything. When I’m not feeling brave, I look to God for strength and guidance. Then, I turn to my family and friends for support.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a violinist and poet, I have the privilege of expressing my creativity in two beautiful art forms. I find it incredibly exciting to an evoke deep emotions, and connect with people on a profound level. The ability to create and share music is a remarkable gift, and it’s one of the aspects that I treasure most about being a creator.

In terms of new developments or events, I’m constantly exploring new themes, styles, and collaborations in both my violin performances and poetry. I’m dedicated to pushing the boundaries of my creativity and bringing fresh perspectives to my art.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Absolutely, emotional understanding is indeed a remarkable skill, one that enables you to connect deeply with people, music, and the written word. It’s a gift that not only enhances your interpersonal relationships but also enriches your artistic and creative expressions.

Your ability to perceive emotional undertones in music and writing can take your artistry to a whole new level, allowing you to infuse your performances and poetry with a profound depth of feeling. This skill helps you create work that resonates with others on a profound level, evoking emotions and making a lasting impact.

Moreover, the capacity to feel the world around you, to empathize with the experiences and emotions of others, is a rare and valuable quality. It can help you build strong connections with people from diverse backgrounds and foster a deep sense of understanding and compassion.

As you continue your journey as a violinist and poet, harnessing this emotional understanding will be your greatest asset. It will enable you to create art that speaks to the hearts of your audience and connects with them on a profound and meaningful level. Keep nurturing this skill, and your creative endeavors are bound to flourish.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
My view is that a balanced approach often works best. Building on your strengths while also addressing your weaknesses is a way to leverage your unique talent while ensuring you’re equipped to navigate various situations. It’s a philosophy of “strengths-based development,” where you capitalize on what you’re naturally good at but don’t neglect essential areas of growth.
