Meet Delta N.A.

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Delta N.A. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Delta, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
As a social human being, feeling different is not only related to physical or cultural characteristic, but also to a specific and unique approach to life. Our beliefs, our interpretations of events, the quality of our main intentions are defining not only our personality but also our relation with society and family. We live differently because we see the world differently and this can be a big issue in world trying to standardize mankind by admitting few models. We keep on walking on the road, aware of other people staring at us and judging our choices, but the flame of art is always burning in our heart and it gives us the strenght to move on, following our dreams.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As Delta N.A. we work simultaneously as a couple on each artwork with a shared language that reveals deep meanings and speaks directly to the heart. Timeless stories develop in each artwork, where figures and forms are placed in a subtle and ethereal space halfway between dream and reality and where the soft flow of emotions and intuitions collects the sense of a free and introspective existence. We spent years travelling to discover the world and our identity, and this experience in foreign countries has deeply marked our technical development and artistic expression. Now we work to combine poetry and strength in a constant search for harmony, portraying the infinite dream of a total and exhaustive well-being.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
We are big learner, this is one of our most reliable quality! We always keep our eyes open to capture new interesting imput. We trust each other competence and intuition, we know how unpredictable could be life and we count on each other sensitivity to better choose where to go. We are determined we won’t surrender! Only one advice: discover yourself, find yourself, be yourself!!

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
After years of efforts and discouragements, failures ans success we have found out that nature is the only cure to our doubts. We love walking on natural trails, we live in Monferrato, that is a beautiful area in Italy and part of UNESCO, so we walk on the hills surrounded by vineyards and woods. Looking at the beauty of nature fulfills our heart with peace and helps us finding enough balance and serenity to face our destiny.
