We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful DeMarcus Morrow. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with DeMarcus below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have DeMarcus with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic came from my mom & grandmother. Growing up, I always watched how hard they worked for to make sure I went without. It was always gas, no breaks and that’s why I’m the workaholic I am today.
My mom and grandma are big on leaving impressions with their work and doing their job beyond expectations which is where I get the perfectionist trait from. I see them in myself more and more each day.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe the three most important skills that were impactful on my journey was relationship building, management, and determination.
Relationship building is vital in entrepreneurship because without it you will miss out on a lot of opportunities if you do not connect with the right people. Majority of my projects came to me by referral from existing customers or simply people who knew I specialized in that certain area. Go out and meet new people, pick their brain, and if they inspire you do not be afraid to let them know that.
Management is also a key factor as well. Managing of your funds to know and understand that you will NOT make money everyday and some days are better than others. Time management to complete projects in a timely manner to ensure your it’s completed correctly. And self management to know when it’s time to grind and when it’s time to take a break as well.
Last one is determination and that one is pretty much self explanatory. You have to be determined to be the best you can be in order to get whatever your goal maybe.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The most helpful people who have helped me during this journey is all my close friends and family. They celebrate me when I don’t even see the accomplishment and allow me to vent when it’s just one of those days In Entrepreneurship even if sometimes they don’t understand. When I get excited over some news about the business I can tell they are equally as excited as I am everytime. They stuck beside me during my lowest last year, to my comeback this year and for that I am forever grateful! The love & support that I’ve received from them is more than anything I could ask for.
