Meet Deon Michelle Lindsey

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deon Michelle Lindsey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Deon Michelle , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience is like your bounce-back ability, you know? I got it from how I see things – having a positive mindset helps a lot. Also, being able to roll with the punches, adapt, and deal with stuff. Life experiences, especially the tough ones, they toughen you up and build your resilience muscle.

Having people around who’ve got your back is key too. Friends, family, or your community – they provide support and help you through the rough patches. So, it’s this mix of your own mindset and how others support you that builds up your resilience. Also my faith in God is a big part of it. Believing that there’s a higher power looking out for you can bring comfort and strength. So, it’s this mix of your own mindset, the people you’ve got, and that connection with God that builds up your resilience. It’s like a combo of your attitude, your support system, and your faith.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi Royalty, I am your Self-Love and Relationship Coach, Deon Lindsey. Showing women how to love themselves and step into their fullest potential is my passion.

Royalty Coaching was birthed in 2017 after I met death face-to-face but was offered another chance at life. With my second chance, I decided it was time I said “yes” to boundaries, relationships that served me, and a mind that could support me.

It is my mission to help hundreds of women say “yes” to themselves and take back their life, walk in faith, and serve in their purpose.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the gift God has given me, adaptability, continuous learning, and effective communication were crucial qualities. My advice for those starting their journey:

1. Adaptability: Embrace change and learn to adjust. Life can throw unexpected challenges, so being flexible and open to new situations will help you navigate uncertainties.

2. Continuous Learning: Stay curious and never stop learning. Acquiring new skills and knowledge not only enhances your abilities but also keeps you adaptable in evolving environments.

3. Effective Communication: Learn to express yourself clearly. Whether in writing or speaking, effective communication is a valuable skill. It helps in building relationships, conveying ideas, and navigating professional and personal interactions.

In summary, recognize the gift God has given you, be adaptable, commit to continuous learning, and hone your communication skills. These qualities will serve you well on your journey, helping you thrive in various situations and connect with others effectively.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When feeling overwhelmed, I often turn to faith and spiritual practices for solace. Prayer and meditation become not only a source of comfort but also a means to find strength and guidance in challenging times. I find reassurance in the belief that there is a higher power watching over me.

Additionally, journaling about my thoughts and feelings allows me to gain clarity on the sources of overwhelm. It becomes a tool for self-reflection and can lead to insights on potential solutions or necessary changes.

In moments of deep struggle, I lean on faith to find meaning in difficult circumstances, trusting that God has a plan or purpose even in the midst of challenges. Integrating spiritual practices into daily life can offer a profound sense of peace and resilience when facing overwhelming situations.
