We were lucky to catch up with Diana recently and have shared our conversation below.
Diana, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism definitely comes form the Lord.
Knowing that all things have a purpose and turn for the good is from my faith.
God will provide on the mountaintops and the valleys of life, and having faith through it all, makes life an optimistic journey.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
We are a Christian based company, sharing the light of Jesus with the world. W are using our love & passion for design, & bringing it back to glorify God. The baby collection is definitely a shop a favorite, however we range Infant-Adult and have small accessories as well!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 qualities that has helped us immensely is: 1 Faith- We pray daily, and trust that God will lead us where we need to go. This is crucial, as our business is built on Christ, that we are disciplined in prayer and put God first in all we do!
2 Work Ethic- We work very hard, daily, many hours a day. I’m sure you have heard that owning your own business you work more than you would work at many other jobs. This is accurate. Understanding that this is not a part time role- but a full time business is key to success.
3 Perseverance- there will be times where it seems like you may not be doing the right thing, or possibly your idea may not be working out. There is a cycle to business, the seed you plant today, will NOT grow tomorrow. It takes time. We say this by just being in business for 3 years, and are sure we will see even more growth in the next 3, however, what we see today are fruits of the seeds that were planted 3 years ago. In business you take losses, and understanding that, that is part of the business will only help you persevere!
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The Bible. Being close to the word of God, helps us daily in business. Understanding that if it the will of God, it will happen. There are hundreds of examples we list off, but one that comes to mind is-
Luke 16:10 “The one who faithfully manages the little he has been given will be promoted and trusted with greater responsibilities. But those who cheat with the little they have been given will not be considered trustworthy to receive more.”
We are stewards in this lifetime. We are given blessings and obstacles, they key is that God is the same in both.
