We were lucky to catch up with Dianne Porchia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dianne, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I think my resilience comes from my mother who had a very tough childhood from birth. Having experienced three mother figures who disappeared during her early years, the theme in my mother’s life was abandonment. First, her biological mother died as a result of giving birth to her, second came her wet nurse who left and was replaced by a nanny. Then the nanny was finally replaced by her new step mother who favored her own natural born children and my mother became the black sheep Cinderella and scapegoat in her family. So my mother from birth came into a physical world that was unwelcoming, hostile and unfair. She experienced many other challenges during her adolescence, teenage years and early twenties which reinforced this early childhood belief and experience, yet she persevered and had a strong sense for self preservation without succumbing to self-abuse of alcohol or drugs, which many people in her circumstances would have done.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Like my mother, I have experienced many of life’s challenges, death of loved ones, divorce, loss of my family unit, bankruptcy, financial struggles, betrayal, and more, and like my mother I have been resilient and triumphed through them all. While going through divorce I reinvented myself in middle age, with no marketable skills for a job, with no nest egg to fall back on, and carrying a lot of self-doubt.
As part of my own healing process, I went to many personal growth workshops and retreats and I started receiving therapeutic massage to help release my unexpressed hurt, pain and sense of worthlessness that I had suppressed for many years. It was through my own process of healing that I learned about how suppressed emotions could be stored in muscle tissue and cause physical illness. This mental-emotional connection to physical dis-ease is what made me gravitate towards the healing arts as a career move. I became certified in various types of therapeutic “touch” body work: massage, acupressure, trigger point, cranio-sacral therapy, energy work in the Native American tradition and more over the years.
I received my masters degree in spiritual psychology and diplomat in mind-body medicine. This professional training coupled with my past background in body work, energy work, dance, yoga and art gave me a well rounded experiential understanding of the unique holistic approach that became since 2001 PorchiasWISH Whole Integrated Self Health – Path To Healing, Loving and Living Consciously.
I am blessed to be featured in HEAL Documentary (Amazon Prime Video) along side notable names like Deepak Chopora, Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton and other experts in science, medicine and spirituality for my successful work with an advance stage cancer client who remains cancer free after a stage IV colorectal cancer diagnosis in 2013.
I work with thousands of clients from around the world, from all walks of life, cultures, spiritual beliefs, and sexual orientations and I get to see miracles happen all the time, after serious illness, disease and diagnosis of autoimmune disorders and cancers.
I am excited to be expanding my holistic health and wellness practice by creating Porchias Holistic Eco-Farm Sanctuary in Oregon. A 46-acre farm for the practice, study and education of regenerative farming, eco-conservation of five vital eco-systems on the property and human health and wellness through living in right relationship to Nature and Mother Earth
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities within my Self that that guide my personal growth journey and career are: Heart, Nature and Trust.
Heart: Following my heart’s desire / intuition may not have always been the easiest or wisest path financially. However, in the end I always found that when I let my heart lead the way, I am always guided and supported by the Universe.
Nature: Spending time in Nature, keeps me centered and grounded, replenishes the output I give to others daily, and always inspires new ways of thinking creatively, approaching challenges, and filling my heart and soul with gratitude.
TRUST: Reminding my Big Self that I do not have to push, force or try to control outcomes. Rather, I TRUST that I am in co-creation with Spirit who conspires to support me every step of the way. I am blessed to experience living in this flow daily, as everything continues to unfold in perfect timing and order for my highest good and for the highest good of all concerned.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Calling Farm Angels: As Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, use of cell phones, computers, robots, remote technologies, big corporations, mass production and lab engineered fake food rapidly changes how humanity works, interacts, restructures, and feeds itself, Dianne Porchia, Founder of Porchia’s Holistic Eco Farm Sanctuary, is committed to contributing to a model for humans, animals and Nature to thrive together holistically, collaboratively and sustainably.
If you have practical skills, talents and certified training in a regenerative farming business, animal husbandry and eco-conservation and want to contribute to this legacy vision for future generations to enjoy, please contact [email protected]
