Meet DJ Fergg

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful DJ Fergg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
By consistently reminding myself that we all have a purpose in God’s plan, I have built my confidence and self-esteem. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry has its challenges. I have found that staying true to my beliefs and values has been crucial in navigating through the obstacles that come with being a woman in a male-dominated industry. By advocating for myself and supporting other women in the field, I have not only empowered myself but also contributed to a more inclusive and diverse work environment. It is through my dedication to showcasing my skills and talents without hesitation that I continue to break barriers and inspire others to do the same. I firmly believe that by embracing who we are and what we bring to the table, we can pave the way for a more equitable future for all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a DJ, I believe my role is to unite people through music and create lasting memories. Witnessing individuals connect through music is a remarkable experience. Music has the power to uplift someone during tough times or evoke memories of happier moments. Music is therapeutic. Lately, I’ve expanded my passion for music and entrepreneurship by delving into podcasting. My podcast is called MobCityTv and its aim is to engage in conversations that motivate, inspire, and uplift our listeners. While music narrates a tale, stories can also be shared through casual chats. Stay tuned for new episodes every Saturday morning by visiting my website for updates!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If were to look back from the beginning of my career until now, I would definitely say professionalism is definitely a key factor, although the music industry is for entertainment, there is a time where professionalism plays a key role when conducting business. Secondly , knowledge of your equipment/system is crucial. If you know your equipment, your performance has a better chance of being outstanding! Plus , Anytime there is a technical difficulty, knowing how to resolve it quickly is important. Third , I would say , communication . I feel communication is Key to building any type of relationship in life . In business communication can solve a lot of problems ahead of time .

My advise to anyone getting started anywhere in the music industry would be to establish a brand , establish a community and stay consistent.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am constantly welcoming collaborations. My preferred brands for collaboration are those with a meaningful mission. I enjoy interviewing individuals with inspiring stories and valuable information to share. Brand size or popularity is not a priority for me – authenticity and professionalism are key. If you are interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out to me at www.djfergg.com.
