DJ Nate, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Where do I get my work ethic from?? That’s a good question, A lot of people in my life are hard workers, my parents are a prime example. I’ve seen my parents grind hard endless days and tired nights to make sure me and my siblings didn’t suffer but I also had to learn to get it on my own as well. My work ethic also came from times when people telling me no or being selfish towards me when I was coming up and the pain of being broke and struggling, Struggling is the worst feeling ever I don’t wish that on NOBODY. My work ethic comes from people counting me out, underestimating everything I do, people overlooking me because they didn’t believe in me. My work ethic comes from betting on myself and believing in myself. I knew what I wanted in life and me living to my own standards got me where I’m at today. My work ethic comes from working jobs that I wasn’t happy and appreciated at, low paying jobs because I had to take care of home, being under-estimated, having doubters and my hard work being “swept” under the rug. My life story also played a part of my work ethic. Now having a great career, growing as a successful DJ and now and CEO of my own entertainment company, my hard work paid off. This is the beginning of things to come and now surrounding myself with business minded people instead of negative people who don’t want to see you doing better than them. My work ethic comes from having my back against the wall and going through times where I was left out in the dry by myself because I “wasn’t” good enough for their standards. If you’re reading this, I have a message for you, “Always believe in yourself and bet on yourself” never let people tell you what you can’t do because your standards don’t match their standards everyone have their own 24 hours as long you know what you want in life live within your means not for nobody else and the rest is history. Your work ethic can only lead to great things if you keep on pushing!!!!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m currently a DJ from Landover Maryland/ The Washington DC area, In 2023 I just founded my own entertainment company 3018 Entertainment. My main focus is to put my brand on the map where it can be global. It has been long overdue especially the trials and tribulations that I’ve endured in my lifetime trying to put that behind me so I can focus on the doors that are about to open up for me. I’m focused on building my brand to the highest capacity and I won’t stop until I accomplish my goals. My brand consist of giving people what they want no matter if it is music, short films, music videos anything entertainment that’s my vision and my vision is vivid and 2024 and beyond 3018 Entertainment will be rising to the highest capacity and it starts with me and putting people with the same work ethic hunger and drive as me in positions where they can be set and put them in great situations and helping them get put on the map as well as me. I’m only bringing winners on my team and my team will be full of champions when it all said and done. Everything people say I can’t do I’m going to do it with style and grace and that’s my word.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1 -Having Patience: I knew what I wanted to do and other people’s standards and criticism was going out one ear to the other. Everything doesn’t happen overnight. so trusting the process was major for me.

2 -Not giving up: For every person who didn’t repost a mix of mine or didn’t listen to it or repost my DJ page or my brand on their social media, or not congratulating me on my success, I never let it get to me or affect me because my life path ain’t for everyone. That moment when that big break come everyone is going to act like they know you or bring up how you used to live or trying to reach and have access to you because they expecting something out of you or from you or the fake love that success brings, it comes in all angles shapes and sizes always remember, “men lie women lie numbers and stats don’t”.

3 -Stay dedicated and consistent with your craft and vision: Practice makes perfect!! I remember an old Jay-Z quote “Everyone in this thing called life has a gift it’s all on you to figure it out what it is”, my gift and purpose Is to entertain people, I’ve been wanting to be a DJ since a child, I had sleepless nights staying up practicing my craft or making business proposals or just wanting to be great at what I do, I had to work hard and this ain’t for the weak also. I enjoy what I do love it and it can only get better as the days months and years go by.

If any advice I can give people during this journey: Can’t nobody stop you but you it’s going to be time where people ain’t supporting you or people know you trying to make but they don’t call you but they call other people who do the same thing as you don’t let it get to you. It’s sad that you really haft to be big for people to support you and that’s the sad thing about how this generation operate remember this, “It’s not the end of the world” just keep on moving don’t stop. Be all you can be in your journey. Never settle for less to impress people and if things don’t go your way don’t beat yourself up about it, pick yourself up and try again. Stay inspired as well. Don’t worry about people’s opinions and negative comments it doesn’t pay your bills or put money in your pockets.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Of course, the people I want collaborate with people who have the same hunger ,drive and vision as me. People from the PG county area, that’s where I’m from, some people from my local neighborhood. Everybody can’t go with you. I just want to work with hard working/dedicated people the same way they’re trying to make it and be successful and leave where they grew up just like me we all know being successful and staying in your hometown nothing good comes out of that. They can connect with me via Social media, (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and email). Networking is the key and I’m all about taking people to the next level as long as they want it for themselves the doors can open in ways they can’t imagine.
