We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Doe Zantamata. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Doe below.

Hi Doe, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Thank you! In August 1998, I was a semester away from graduating college and was supposed to be choosing and applying to graduate school. I was on a life path that I never had any interest in being on, let alone staying on. I was generally unhappy and pessimistic. A close friend had passed away unexpectedly in April. I woke up one morning with a severe headache that got worse over the course of the morning and spread to my spine. Not my back, but my spine. Every step felt like my spine was being tugged. The pain got worse and worse, and by that night I had to go to the emergency room. I was in a pre-medical program and had heard about students misdiagnosing themselves with life-threatening diseases, but I was honestly convinced I had meningitis or encephalitis. After a night of tests and the most pain I’ve ever been in, I was diagnosed with meningitis. That night in the hospital, I had what years I later learned was called an NDE, near-death experience, At the time, I never heard of anyone ever having one, and I thought I was the only one. I also had believed 100% in the existence of only heaven and hell, so what I saw and felt was never something I believed in or even thought of. It was so much better than that. I had a conscious decision to come back, figure out how to resolve the unhappiness and anger that I as a person had been living in, and share that information in some form; movies, books, or otherwise, with as many people as possible in my lifetime.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My overall work is called “Happiness in Your Life.” I started posting to my facebook page back in April 2011. I also have a Youtube Channel, Tiktok, Instagram, and a blog. I have written and published 5 of 12 books in the “Happiness in Your Life,” book series. The series will be my life’s work and legacy. Each book is self-contained, but each one builds on the previous books. The first is Karma, which is the overall cause and effect of our actions in life. The second is Intuition, which is learning our own inner language via this sense. The third is Forgiveness, which is only a clearing of past pain within one’s self. Fourth is Trust, so important for self-confidence and for not recreating situations from the past that we already learned from. Fifth is the beginning of refilling our cleared emotional garden with Appreciation. When appreciation is added to every moment of life where it’s possible, life itself completely transforms. The next book in the series, book 6, is Love. Love is all there is on the other side, and should be our guiding belief in every thought and action we think and take in our time here on Earth. I’ve also created the “Happiness in Your Life – Answers Within Guidebook” with quotes from all 12 books. This book is fun because you don’t read it cover to cover. You use your intuition to flip to a page or think of a number between 1 and 301 for your message for the day. I also have posters, magnets, postcards, a workbook, and e-courses. One of my e-courses is called “12 Day Transformation,” and uses one affirmation per book title, as well as a short video and worksheet for each to create depth and solidify the meaning in one’s own life. In late 2018, I wrote a book that I had not planned. I had a really challenging year, I mean really challenging. All but derailing. There’s a longer story, but basically I sat out on my back patio every evening and wrote one page. Within a few weeks, I began to come back to myself and out of survival mode. That book became “Improve Your Life in 80 Days” and was completed and published in January 2019….a full year before any of us would have to deal with the pandemic! That book has been my #1 seller and has helped thousands of people so far to focus and evaluate their own lives in an honest and positive way. If not for my “terrible” year, I would never have been in the mental and emotional space to be able to even think of the idea, let alone to write it. So that one and the incredible effects it’s had on so many people is the one I’m actually most grateful for, because it made that difficult time worthwhile.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Never let what you don’t know stop you from learning it. Little children can figure out technology within a few days. This is because they just keep going and don’t judge themselves when something doesn’t work right. The older we get, the more mistakes we’ve made, and it seems the more worried we get about making more instead of staying focused on what it is we want to do and learn. The world changes so fast. Especially technology. But most of it turns out to be user-friendly once you get the hang of it. It’s designed for people to use! And there’s a part of the mind that stays active when we keep learning every day. It keeps us solution-focused and believing things can be better and easier. That’s called “faith,” and it can be pretty important in life, especially in darker times.

So, faith, #1. And with faith, determination and perseverance. Those three will always get you through, eventually. If I had a fourth, it would be resilience. We can’t carry everything through life, and resilience means setting down that which won’t help us to move forward.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Financing the creation of new, daily work has been a challenge. I’ve recently been creating videos with excerpts from the books, and the software, time, licensing of video clips and images is a large investment. I am self-financed, and rely on book, e-course, and shop sales to be able to continue my work. I don’t do clickbait and I don’t take offers for sponsorship from companies that I don’t believe in. Unfortunately, clickbait is rampant and we are as humans designed for survival and to react quickly to things that are perceived as being threats. In the earlier years of my experience on Facebook, my work reached 20-25 million people per week, and book sales alone were more than enough for me to continue. Politics took over Facebook around 2015, or rather, a lot of people’s attention launched into politics, so I had to get more creative with my income while always maintaining my integrity. You just can’t be shady after learning about Karma and even writing a book on it! But it does get frustrating at times. I know my work helps people a LOT. It’s all stuff I wish I knew earlier in life and learned the hard way and from a perspective that many people won’t have until the end. I think for the most part, time will sort that out, and I’ll keep doing, trying, and learning until then.
