Meet Dr. Catrina

We recently connected with Dr. Catrina and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is deeply rooted in the strength and resilience that runs through my family’s history. I draw inspiration from my grandparents and great-grandmother, who have been enduring pillars of support throughout generations. Their stories of overcoming adversity, facing challenges with determination, and navigating through difficult times with grace have shaped my understanding of resilience.

Growing up surrounded by individuals who have weathered various storms has instilled a sense of grit and an unwavering belief in the power of resilience. Witnessing their ability to confront difficulties head-on, maintain a positive outlook, and emerge stronger on the other side has been a constant source of motivation.

The values and principles passed down through the generations have become integral to my identity. The collective resilience within my family serves as a guiding force, reminding me that challenges are inevitable, but with perseverance and a resilient spirit, one can overcome even the most formidable obstacles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Visionary Leadership: My ability to envision a future where individuals are empowered to walk in their purpose has been a cornerstone of my success. This quality enables me to see opportunities where others may not and to inspire those around me to strive for greatness.

Strategic Networking and Global Perspective: My impact extends globally, and a critical factor in my success lies in my strategic networking and ability to maintain a global perspective. Leading a collective of creatives, producers, and strategists across diverse locations, I have cultivated a network that spans continents.

Multifaceted Expertise in Entertainment and Business: My multifaceted expertise has greatly influenced my journey as both an empowerment speaker and entertainment executive. As a film, television, and theatrical producer, I deeply understand the nuances of the creative process, storytelling, and the entertainment industry.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was allowed my grandparents and great-grandmother to raise me. This decision was crucial in shaping my character, values, and resilience.

Allowing me to be raised by my grandparents and great-grandmother allowed me to be immersed in a rich environment of generational wisdom. Being raised by my grandparents and great-grandmother created a strong sense of family and a commitment to providing me with a stable and nurturing upbringing.

Being raised by older family members significantly shaped my cultural and personal identity. The traditions, stories, and values passed down from my grandparents and great-grandmother contributed to a strong sense of cultural heritage and a connection to my family’s history.
