Hi Dr. Shameka R. , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I got my confidence and self esteem from being rejected and overlooked!! You may ask how is that possible? Well, I learned to truly love myself, and as I loved myself my confidence grew to another level because I found out , what I thought I needed from other people was already inside me!!

I founded Open Heart Christian Ministries in 2020 in which the vision expanded into counseling services, book publishing, ministry trainings and more, I then relaunched the organization as a non profit organization called Open Heart International of Atlanta where we help out individuals and families in the community! My passion is ministry and also helping others maintain a healthy mental health status! I am an author of 15 books which are books written to self help individuals in their past and traumas.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful skills in my journey was consistency, focus , and determination!! They all had a vital part in helping me build the organization even when I could not see how it was going to happen.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes !! Most definitely I would love to partner with different hospitals and organizations when it comes to Open Heart International of Atlanta! We are looking for financial donations or clothing to help individuals and families in the community! Praying that hopefully one day we could give free counseling sessions to the ones that qualify while also allowing them opportunities!!
