Meet Elias Mohammed

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elias Mohammed. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elias below.

Elias, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Prior to establishing residence in Dallas, I graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Netherlands in the art of photography. I am in the process of creating a book of people and architectural wonders I have captured across the world. My hope is to convey a visual narrative through my photography that transcends borders, showcasing the diverse cultures and stories that unfold within each frame.
My work ethic as a photographer is fueled by a passion for capturing moments that tell meaningful stories. The desire to convey emotions and create lasting memories drives me to consistently refine my skills and dedicate myself to the craft.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a photographer, my focus is on capturing moments that evoke emotions and tell compelling stories. What I find most exciting and special about my work is the ability to freeze fleeting moments in time, creating visual narratives that resonate with people. Each photo is a unique expression, and the process of translating emotions into images is both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

My brand is built on a commitment to authenticity and a passion for storytelling through visuals. I strive to connect with viewers on a personal level, whether it’s through capturing the beauty of everyday life or documenting significant events. I believe in the power of images to transcend language and communicate universal emotions.

I encourage those interested in my work to explore the stories behind the photos, as each image holds a narrative waiting to be discovered. Through my lens, I aim to share the beauty and complexity of the world, inviting others to see and feel the moments that I’ve been fortunate enough to witness and capture.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
In reflecting on my journey, three crucial elements stand out: 1. Technical Proficiency: Mastering the technical aspects of photography, such as understanding camera settings, lighting, and post-processing, lays a solid foundation. Continuous practice and experimentation are key to refining these skills.

2. Creative Vision: Developing a unique and personal style helps your work stand out. Cultivate your creative vision by studying various genres, finding inspiration in different art forms, and allowing your perspective to evolve over time.

3. Business Acumen: Success in photography often involves more than just artistic talent. Acquiring business skills, including marketing, client communication, and financial management, is vital for navigating the professional side of the industry. For those starting their journey, my advice is to embrace a mindset of constant learning. Seek feedback, attend workshops, and stay open to new ideas. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; they often lead to valuable lessons. Build a network within the photography community, and remember that resilience and adaptability are key to long-term growth.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My journey as a photographer has been shaped by a combination of mentors, fellow photographers, and a commitment to continuous learning. Learning from experienced individuals in the field and collaborating with peers has been invaluable in overcoming challenges and honing the skills necessary for success.
