Enrique , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
It was when (in short story form), a kid who was in elementary school we had a performance at the school and we had to pick a kid from the crowd each of us to bring on stage with us to do a skit with us. So I picked my kid and he was the happiest to come up with me on stage. After all that was over, the performance and all the kid came up to me and gave me hug and told me I was his inspiration and that I made his whole day, how he won’t forget me all because I picked him to come up with me. I then knew that my purpose was to inspire all whether it’s kids or older people anyone I can motivate and inspire is my true calling.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’am a singer/choreographer/dancer who lives for the arts. I dabble in all three of those categories, I definitely love all three but singing has really caught my eye more than anything. The expression behind it being able to reach around the world through just 1 or more songs is amazing. What I would like people to know about my brand is it’s just based off my personality I’ve always been told I’m smooth and so I’ve created my life around that. The brand name Smooth Ways is all about being you and smooth at the same time. I have a new song dropping the 22nd of December and that’s my year wrapped up. I definitely have so many songs in the vault that are ready to be released and music videos coming next year as well. Got so much planned I just want everyone to know next year I’m so locked in… even so I’m going to be creating shirts, long sleeves and hoodies next year.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being open to listening to advice – something I lacked a little when I was a little bit younger that I knew everything but honestly I don’t. So I told myself I’m a student at anything I do.
Motivated – You have to always stay ready for your goals and dreams. Because you can be lazy but your dreams and goals ain’t just going to happen if you’re being lazy. Get up and go get it! Stay motivated even in dark times.
Be an open spirit- don’t be afraid to try any and everything it can open doors
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My mother being a single mom most of my life and still being able to help me become the man I am today. Couldn’t have gotten this far without her.
