Meet Erin Painter

We recently connected with Erin Painter and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self care is a term that’s really been on the forefront lately. Everyone knows they need to do it, but how? As an esthetician, I know the importance of self care! I tell my guests all the time, your skin is an investment, not an expense.

My profession requires a lot of repetitive movements. Being self employed, it is imperative I take care of my body; If I don’t work, I don’t get paid. Self care has been very essential, For years, I’ve done acupuncture regularly. And about a year ago I made it a priority to get monthly massages instead of just fitting it in when I get a chance. Last summer I realized I needed to step up my game and added swimming back into my lifestyle. I grew up a swimmer and now I can’t remember why I stopped doing it for so many years!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Boosting self-confidence and creating a comforting space for my clients are my top priorities. I have been a licensed esthetician and speed waxing specialist since 2007, and I have loved every second of helping others feel pampered.

I began Esthetics By Erin to provide a dedicated space where my clients could relax, recharge, and rediscover their confidence. My areas of expertise include Brows, Brazilian waxing, facials, PCA chemical peels, microdermabrasion, acne treatments, and more. For every treatment, I exclusively use high quality products that I have personally vetted. Allow me to help you experience an elevated level of self-care.

I’m pleased to announce that I have recently moved my studio to new, larger location, centrally located in the heart of Mission Valley!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
To be successful, you really need to LOVE what you do! If you enjoy your work, you will definitely be happier and more productive. Just like in high school, people tend to excel in subjects that are more interesting to them. Chose a career path that interests you and you’ll be more excited to continue to learn and grow within your field. If you aren’t great at it in the beginning, that’s fine. If you’re passionate about it, you won’t mind working at it until you achieve the result you wanted!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I often have requests for a massage therapy! I worked in spas for many years and it was so convenient for guests to come get a massage and then a facial. People love the convenience of a one stop shop. I’d love to collaborate with a massage therapist to offer expanded services for our guests.
