Meet Evie B

We were lucky to catch up with Evie B recently and have shared our conversation below.

Evie, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is our essence, our power, and the mark we make on the word.

The energy to be vibrant on any day comes from my connection to nature, my body, and my purpose.

I’m inspired by the birds the visit my feeders every morning, by the gorgeous movements and colors right outside of the window.

I’m inspired by my dreams and innermost wants, confident that I can change and embody a skill because I’ve done it countless times before. I have faith that it will work out for me, and that I will have enough grace to maneuver in new territory with curiosity, humility, and respect.

Watching the feats of those around me fills up my cup, that I am capable, and that I am supported (somehow) in bringing these visions to life.

A heathy diet of walking through the woods, cleansing myself in the waters, and challenging myself to move with freedom is what fills my soul with energy.

It’s in the silent moments that a vision comes.

Taking action is as simple as breathing. Once we start a project, attracting the momentum and the knowledge becomes simple, like steps paving a new path, stone by stone.

I’m driven by my feelings: what will it feel like when I have made or become something? It will feel incredible, most likely, and I desire to feel good in life.

I’ve realized that each one of us holds the power to attract what we want to feel from life, and that’s what keeps my creativity alive. My hunger for depth and magic is an endless well in my soul.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
In my current circle, I’m focused on serving my community. I work as a dog trainer, helping owners manage protection and companion dogs that need a firm hand.

I train my body in the combat arts daily, looking forward to my next opportunities to compete and inspire.

But when I return home, I create. I’ve generally got a few paintings in the works, new music to record and release, shows to prepare for, and a garden to tend.

Right now, I’m getting shape for wrestling camps this summer. I hope to find a gym of likeminded athletes to train with to improve my grappling.

But my latest release is my biggest focus: I’ve written an account of my world travels as a musician and athlete over the past 30 years and the lessons I’ve learned in my martial artists journey. It’s set to be released later this Spring, entitled “The Dog and the Dragon” by Eve Berrington.

You can find that on Amazon!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Firstly, I’ll share my “rule of ten”. When a task feels too large to conquer, I simply do ten things to move me in the right direction. Ten reps, ten items moved, ten things written in a list, etc. Then, I move on. When the motivation hits, I do ten more.

Secondly, I’d advise a healthy grip and understanding of emotion. Emotion is where our true powers of creation lay.
When we harness this, being mindful of letting emotions leak out where they don’t deserve to be present, and we honor and value this energy, we create a healthy respect. No one deserves our energy outright: it must be exchanged with love and respect.

And lastly, I’ll impart a favorite thought: “The more you look, the more you see”.
When I feel stagnant, I look to nature. The longer I look, the more I understand the truly favored aspects of life: motion, breath, beauty, appreciation, sunshine, and rest. Keep it simple!

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client right now needs a model and a face of their brand.

I’m looking for opportunities to use all my skills in combat, modeling, fitness, performance, instruction, and events.

My ideal client values nature, empowerment, clean living, and the power of the mind. They need my energy, dedication, talents, and skills to see a project through.
