Meet Francisco Adaro

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Francisco Adaro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Francisco below.

Hi Francisco, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I am a positive and optimistic person by nature. I’ve always been able to find joy and laughter in all the little things in life which when taken together create a life full of joy.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m primarily an oil painter. I’ve spent nearly my whole life knowing I was meant to paint and have gone through many styles and transitions throughout my career. I think the most powerful painters paint from their heart and your audience will find you. For me it is painting my family and all the animals and adventures we go on and the places we see. I find beautiful stories in the chaos of my daily life. My work reflects this joy by focusing on simple and funny stories of familial life along the coast. I love combining these stories with a more whimsical Freeform style rather then realism. I also enjoy using a combination of rich colors with light pastels. It gives my work a depth and helps the eye move around the work.
I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina and used to paint huge murals focusing on social justice. I have come full circle and am back to making a couple murals in Florida one for a free medical clinic and one for beautifying an underpass. It’s fun to me that my style now has brought me back to bringing a focus to good causes.
One thing I’m very proud of in our gallery is that we’ve made a huge effort to actually purchase art from the artists rather the. Consign when possible. I remember being a struggling artist and having a gallery believe in my work enough to invest in it would have been such a blessing. We are in a position to be able to invest in our artists which was a big risk but has paid off. Our artists as a result are very loyal and give us the best pieces which results in having a better gallery which in turn attracts more clients.
I’ve been blessed to be able to do what I want in this life. I also feel honored that I can spend my life sharing the joy I have and the The unique vision of all the artists we represent. Thank you for including me in your article.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most unique qualities I have that have been most impactful probably starts with resilience. You can have talent and skill and a vision but if you don’t have resilience you’ll cave with the first criticism. Resilience allows one to both hear what people have to say and take it into consideration if it’s useful information or completely ignore it and continue on. The second and third are skill and vision. You need to have your own unique vision that’s recognizable as yours and no one else’s. This just takes a lot of time and growing into who you are. The skill part is necessary to be able to make that vision a reality. To actually manifest what you want into a tangible piece of work. Without skill what is made will never be exactly what you want to achieve.
For those early in their journey I’d say practice every single day in all types of art. If it is copying a style of artists you admire do that everyday until your own line comes out. If you’re truly creative a style and line unique to you will eventually emerge. That’s not to say you should copy others and sell them, NO. Copying others should be only for practice, but I do believe copying is a great way to practice learning a new skill.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I was lucky. My parents were extremely supportive of my art. From a very young age I knew I wanted to be an artist and my mom especially nurtured this drive. She never told me I should get a “real job” for example. That continued support was always a blessing.
