Meet Frank Favaro

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Frank Favaro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Frank, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence comes from a place of perseverance and resilience. As a young boy, I was shy and insecure, lacking belief in my own abilities. However, my father introduced me to wrestling, which was initially one of the scariest experiences I had ever faced. Despite the fear and discomfort, I embraced the challenge. I practiced, I performed, and I pushed myself, especially when it was difficult and uncomfortable.

Over time, I started to improve. I started to win. Each victory, no matter how small, boosted my confidence a little more. I realized that confidence is not something you are born with, but something you build over time through experiences, challenges, and victories. It’s about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and proving to yourself that you are capable of more than you thought.

One of my favorite quotes is, “It’s better to do something poorly then to not do it at all.” This is where confidence is born. It’s about doing the things you don’t want to do, the things that scare you, because you know they are what you need to do to grow.

So, my confidence comes from my willingness to take risks, to face my fears, and to keep going even when things get tough. It’s a constant journey, but one that I am proud to be on. I always go back to knowing I can do anything, because I’ve proven it to myself time and time again.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At the heart of my life is my family. My wife, Jeana, is the rock that keeps us grounded, and I’m incredibly proud of our children, Vin and Tori. They teach me life’s essential lessons: patience, the joy of laughter, and the pure fun of seeing the world through a child’s eyes. Every day with them is a lesson in rediscovering life with the wonder of a child.

My mission is simple yet profound: to put people in a better position than they are today. This mantra has transformed from a personal ambition into a professional calling. Having committed my life to winning, I experienced an awakening; now, I focus on helping others achieve their own victories. This commitment to others’ success is what truly fuels me, blending my personal values with my professional goals in a deeply fulfilling way.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, the three qualities that have been most impactful are persistence, courage, and the ability to work smarter, not harder.

1. Persistence: To achieve anything worth doing, you must persevere. My grandfather, a professional prize fighter, instilled this value in me at a young age. He taught me that success is not about how hard you hit, but about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s about not giving up, even when the odds are stacked against you. My advice for those early in their journey is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Keep pushing, keep striving, and never lose sight of your goals.

2. Courage: Having the courage to do what’s right, even when it’s not popular, is a quality that has guided me throughout my journey. It’s about having the courage to have uncomfortable conversations, to set expectations, and to stand up for what you believe in. My advice here is to always stay true to your values. Don’t be afraid to speak up, to challenge the status quo, and to make your voice heard.

3. Working Smarter, Not Harder: Success is not just about working hard, but about working smart. It’s about seeking out the people in your field who are already excelling and learning from them. What are they doing that you can implement in your own work? Every industry I’ve excelled in, I’ve excelled because of this process. My advice is to always be learning. Seek out mentors, stay curious, and never stop improving.

Remember, your journey is unique to you. Don’t compare your progress to others. Focus on your own growth and take one step at a time.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One of the most influential books in my journey has been “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles. I read or listened to this book every single day for two years straight. The principles it taught me have been instrumental in shaping my path and ultimately gave me the courage to make a significant change in my life.

In the midst of the pandemic, when uncertainty was high and many were clinging to the security of their jobs, I made the decision to leave my job and start a consulting company. This was not a decision I took lightly, but I knew in my heart that it was the right move.

Wattles’ book taught me that wealth creation is not about competing for a limited resource, but about creating value. I realized that in my job, I was not fully utilizing my potential to create value. I knew I had more to give, more to contribute, and more to create.

So, I took the leap. I started my own consulting company with the aim of providing immense value to others. I focused on serving others, on creating value, on making a positive impact. And the more I focused on giving, the more I found myself receiving.

This journey has not been without its challenges, but the rewards have far outweighed them. I’ve been able to help others in ways I never could have in my previous job. I’ve been able to grow and learn and create in ways I never thought possible. And most importantly, I’ve been able to live in alignment with my values and my purpose.
