We were lucky to catch up with Galit Ventura-Rozen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Galit, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I believe my optimism comes from experiencing challenges at a young age and recognizing how fragile life is at times. I also believe my optimism comes from watching my parents through easy or hard times always recognize how important enjoying life to the fullest and finding the silverliniing is key to being happy in such an unsure world at times
I also believe my optimism comes from years of personal experience, recognizing that I will always have a choice to be negative or positive. That when someone is optimistic , grateful, kind, happy life is so much more fun to live.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a commercial real estate broker, I own and operate Commercial Professionals, where I have sold over $700 million in commercial property in Las Vegas over the past 25+ years. After enjoying a very lucrative career as a real estate expert, I began to experience sleepless nights with racing thoughts. As a then-working mother of three, I wanted to help women, so I returned to college at 38. In 2016, I earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University and graduated with honors.
From there, I began a one-woman mission to empower, inspire and motivate others to believe in themselves. Whether by using lessons from my book, The Successful Woman’s Mindset, or offering innovative strategies for HR as a professional speaker on leadership and effective communication. What sets me shoulders above the rest is my unwavering belief in others and my insistence that the possibilities of success are limitless when we get out of our own way.
I started a new business, Everyday Woman, with my business partner Angela Giles in 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic.
We saw within a few days; those women were scrambling to figure out how to go online with their business or pivot their current online business to make money.
Everyday Woman was born to support women who needed support right away. They started a Facebook group and have added hundreds of free videos sharing with women how to be more visible and get more clients through social media, becoming authors, marketing, branding, networking, and more. This community has grown to over 17,000 women and continues to grow each day.
Today we have Everyday Woman TV, which gives women a place to have their own TV show, as well as we have published 5 books with over 180 women to give women a chance to become published authors and share their story. Our latest project is Iconic Woman Experience where we show women how to become an iconic brand so they can be known as the expert in their profession and the go to person .
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, I believe that these three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge were most impactful. Resilience played a crucial role in overcoming challenges and setbacks. The ability to bounce back from failures and keep pushing forward was instrumental in my personal and professional growth. My advice for those early in their journey is to embrace resilience as a mindset. Cultivate a positive attitude, learn from failures, and see them as opportunities for growth.
Secondly, effective communication skills were key to building strong relationships and achieving success. Being able to articulate thoughts clearly, actively listen, and adapt communication styles to different situations helped me connect with others and create meaningful collaborations. To develop and improve communication skills, I recommend practicing active listening, seeking feedback, and studying effective communication techniques.
Third, continuous learning and adaptability were crucial in navigating a rapidly changing world. Staying curious, being open to new ideas, and constantly updating my knowledge allowed me to stay relevant and seize opportunities. My advice for those starting their journey is to embrace a growth mindset and prioritize lifelong learning. Seek out new experiences, take on challenges outside of your comfort zone, and stay adaptable in the face of change.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, there are a few strategies that I find helpful.
I take a moment to reflect on the “why” behind my feelings of overwhelm. Understanding the root cause of my stress allows me to gain perspective and prioritize accordingly. I also practice mindfulness and breathing exercises to ground myself in the present moment and alleviate anxiety. This helps me regain clarity and approach tasks with a calmer mindset.
Another strategy I use is prioritizing my task. I have a to-do list and identify the most important and urgent tasks. By focusing on what truly matters, I can break down overwhelming projects into smaller, manageable steps. I also make sure to incorporate self-care into my routine, whether it’s taking breaks, going outside or doing things I love such as traveling and going to concerts.
It’s important to remember that everyone’s experience of overwhelm is unique, and different strategies may work for different individuals. Experimenting with various coping mechanisms, such as exercise, journaling, or seeking support from loved ones, can help in finding what works best for you. It’s crucial to be gentle with yourself and prioritize self-care.
