Meet Garrett Brown

We were lucky to catch up with Garrett Brown recently and have shared our conversation below.

Garrett, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I’ve developed my confidence and self-esteem by spending more time alone because I believe many people don’t spend much time by themselves or feel the need to search for a supplement of some sort to gain further self-validation. Therefore, focusing on more important things such as exercising, my career, and mental health has been extremely helpful for my individual growth and looking to continue grow from more broader subjects as well.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m an on-air personality. I’ve had the opportunity to be part of amazing radio stations, including Kluster Radio Media that I’m currently with. My radio show ‘The GB3 Show’ has brought me tons of joy and growth to my career. Furthermore, content that I cover is latest news and updates that are ongoing around the NBA; which is what I’m very passionate about. My favorite NBA team is the Atlanta Hawks. This past March, I joined the ‘LeadSM’ as their Twitter manager for their ‘Hawks Lead’ account.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say skills has been most impactful throughout my journey; especially in the world of journalism. You can say the same for areas of knowledge, skills is more prominent in this day and age. Advice I would give is to take every opportunity and gain as much knowledge as you possibly can. That type of mindset will take you as far as you want to go. Whether if it’s through school, internships or earning specific certifications. That goes for any job field you may pursue because that’s the key to opening more doors for yourself.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, my radio show is primarily based on NBA content such as trending news and open discussion and there’s always room for growth. I’d love to collaborate with those who are into sports and have interest in being a co-host, producer or any other element that can add value to the show to make it more appealing for our listeners. The show is on multiple platforms, including iHeartRadio. Please feel reach out through email and/or Instagram: [email protected]/@iam.gb_
