We were lucky to catch up with Gina Giblin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Gina with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I would attribute my strong work ethic to my family who always demonstrated hard work, motivation, confidence and positivity. I was fortunate to be surrounded by many generations who showed these attributes in various ways which I carried through my education and career.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about your company?
Cordoba Farms is on a mission to educate pet owners that choosing natural grooming care is better for their pets health and better for the environment. Our pet care line is crafted from plant-based ingredients and sold in recyclable, reusable and non-plastic packaging. We do our best to source local, organic and ethically sourced ingredients that are reef-safe. We reduce, reuse and recycle whenever we can and we are also proud to say we run solar.
As a San Diego based company we see the effects of marine pollution and the microplastics that wash up on our shoreline. We are advocates for a healthy pet and planet and support the efforts of the non-profit Ocean Conservancy.
As Cordoba Farms continues to introduce more products, we are very careful to ensure we can maintain quality control while keeping true to our mission.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) Business operations and business development
2) Research and product development
3) Marketing and customer service
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
We take pride in being a low-waste, social-conscience business and our customer is one who looks for products that are good for the environment and their pets health. They are knowledgeable about the harmful ingredients in pet care and are looking for a natural alternative. Our wholesale customers are shop owners who source local, ethically made products with a low carbon footprint.. and many support women-owned business’.
