Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Goldy Locks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Goldy, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Through modeling, movies, and commercials. I have great stories that can apply to everyone.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a female who fronts a rock band, a professional wrestling personality, I save money for people on television and have a wonderful photography studio in Nashville Tennessee. I’m currently photographing 40 women in the surrounding area over the age of 40. So that’s ’40s ’50s ’60s ’70s ’80s ’90s and today! I try to use all of the experience that I’ve gained doing modeling and commercials, fronting a band for many years, being a part of the Minneapolis sound alumni and years I’ve spent on television trying to make people laugh. I think when you don’t take yourself that seriously I can really help you with your business. This helps me make a crowd feel at ease, hopefully people watching me on TV can smile, and my clients and friends who come through my photography doors feel confident and have their best day ever.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three skills or qualities I’ve learned over the past are survival, perseverance, and kindness. I want sat next to a billionaire whose private jet failed and was forced to take commercial transportation! I asked him if he had one bit of advice what it would be and he said, treat everyone as though they are dying. I fail to always do this but I try. If you can be that good to another human being and try to understand what they might be going through that day I think it helps you live a pretty solid and fulfilling life. I’ve learned to try no matter what and just jump. Many times it’s easy to self-sabotage and wait for everything to be perfect but that day is never going to come. Seize the day, carpe diem. Be smart about it do your research but want it ultimately comes time to pulling the trigger do it.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most important thing my parents ever did was show me the importance of hard work. You can work smarter and not harder that makes sense on paper. But at the end of the day if you’re not out hustling and showing the people around you that you are willing to put in the time everything will be in vain. My dad was one of the hardest working and still is human beings I’ve ever known. We didn’t buy things he would always say, I’ll make that. When I was younger I thought can’t we just go to the store and get things like other people? I didn’t realize until later that we needed to save that money. My mom was not well for most of my childhood in life. Money should be saved and used for the important things in life. It’s a very disposable society that we live in now. When I look back something handmade with sweat and tears is so much more meaningful and treasured.
