Grace-Ann , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

ShadesbyGAL Cosmetics business will connect with our community through donations, volunteering, and creating a nonprofit outreach organization for the youth. Giving back provides a sense of purpose that enriches the lives of all involved. In alignment with my business mission to be a blessing through serving. My team and I will donate and volunteer at Westbury Divine Congregation Church of God – Food Distribution Center, nursing homes, women’s shelters and even hire student interns interested in entrepreneurship and the beauty industry. My goal is for my business to stand out as one that provides a solution to some of the problems in my community. As an entrepreneur, it has always been my goal to not just be remembered for my profitable business but for how I leverage my financial gains to make a significant difference in other people’s lives. The vehicle of entrepreneurship allows me to do just that.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I believe my story is different, I hope I can share with you and lift your spirits or that of a loved one, if I can inspire just one person per day then my job is done.

I am Grace-Ann Long, I completed my undergraduate at Hofstra University then went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in business and entrepreneurship.
My passion for style, beauty, and make-up fueled my desire to created a cosmetic line, ShadesbyGAL cosmetics ( If you are wondering why GAL it is my initial, Grace-Ann Long),
which is now selling online at Walmart.
My personal mission is to bring beauty and empowerment to every ethnicity while enhancing self-esteem and individual appearance in all women through this product line.
I created ShadesbyGAL to remind women that their past does not determine their future, a lesson that i learned. Through my personal story of a life threatening accident, multiple surgeries and chronic pain, i encourage and remind women of their resiliency and beauty.

I walk by faith and not by sight… Everyday is still a struggle, I am in pain constantly but I am STILL among the land of the LIVING. My mom still has your daughter, My brother still has his sister, my grandparents still have their granddaughter, my cousins still have their cousin, my best friend still has her sister and my kids still has their mom. No one but GOD!
I know what praying without ceasing can do!

In my book “GODSGRACE” i stated if you are wondering if God gives second chances, this book will prove a resounding yes! God is the God of many chances. You can’t see my scars, Just my Flawless Beauty.
I am committed to bringing the latest trends to my customers, so I created a clothing line: BuyGAL.

I would love to open my own store where I can interact with my target market, provide jobs opportunities in the community while I continue building my brand.
ShadebyGAL Cosmetics will be hiring the right people, for the business expansion.
The direction I am heading in business is not just to keep money but to provide opportunities for employment within the community. I see my brand as a nationwide sucess while uplifting and helping employees provide for their families. I see my self with my own store along being on line Walmart I want to be on their shelves as well as Ultra and target stores.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Two words. Keep believing. Nevertheless, Great leaders understand the importance of helping their communities even while maintaining healthy profits and achieving other business objectives. Expansion is the next goal for my business, and I believe the right team is essential to achieving this goal. Do not be afraid to build a solid team. Not friends but a team.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
ShadesbyGAL Cosmetics business will connect with our community through giving, volunteering, creating non profit where we can be a go for outreach of young children that are going up. By my team volunteering within different events within the community we would collect Items to Donate, allow students to intern or even come in to see how the corporation is run daily. Being a beam within the community we can bring awareness nationwide to any good or bad situations within that community.
