Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hardy Vibert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hardy, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
a combination of personal values and goals, life experiences, and internal motivation. My personal values, such as a desire to be successful and a good role model for others, motivate me to work hard and stay focused on my tasks. My life experiences, such as overcoming difficult challenges through determination and hard work, have also taught me the importance of self-discipline. Additionally, I have an internal drive to be my best self and to take control of my life, which helps me stay motivated to make good choices and stay on track. Overall, my self-discipline comes from a combination of these and other sources that have helped shape my values, experiences, and motivations.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
my name is Hardy Vibert and I am the founder of PHH Hospitality Group, a company that provides top-quality hospitality services to A-list clients in Beverly Hills and Hollywood. I got my start in the nightlife industry while earning a degree in Computer Science in California, where I began hosting at a nightclub and eventually started my own Hospitality company. One thing that sets on company PHH Hospitality Group apart from other hospitality companies in the area is the type of venues we partner with. We always choose upscale locations, We have had the pleasure of hosting at Warwick for over 8 years and know it is one of the premier nightclubs in Hollywood, attracting high-end clients and an A-list crowd. I am particularly excited about the growth and success of PHH Hospitality Group, and the opportunity to work with long-standing clients like Warwick, who recently expanded their offerings by opening an upscale restaurant in Beverly Hills called The HideAway which has given our clients even more options for fine dining.
I am also looking forward to the future of the company and the possibility of expanding to other cities across America. In terms of new events or developments, we are constantly striving to build new relationships with clients and finding new ways to bring A-list clients to the hottest nightclubs in Hollywood. We are excited to see what the future holds for PHH Hospitality Group and to continue providing excellent hospitality services to our clients.
I believe that the key to our success has been our dedication to providing top-quality service and our ability to build strong relationships with our clients. We have received numerous testimonials from satisfied clients who have praised our attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to create memorable experiences. It is this level of satisfaction that drives us to continue delivering the best service possible to our clients.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
there are five skills that I believe are essential: communication, adaptability, emotional intelligence, time management, and leadership itself. All of these skills have played a key role in my journey as a leader, and I think they are important for anyone looking to develop their leadership skills.
First and foremost, communication is crucial for building strong relationships and working effectively with others. To improve your communication and interpersonal skills, focus on actively listening to others, giving and receiving feedback, and working towards common goals. Active listening, in particular, involves paying close attention to what others are saying and asking clarifying questions to make sure you understand their perspective.
Adaptability is also important, as it allows you to navigate and solve problems in a constantly changing environment. You can develop your adaptability by practicing problem-solving skills and seeking out challenges that push you out of your comfort zone.
Emotional intelligence can be a bit of a tricky one, but it’s worth the effort. By learning to manage your own emotions, you’ll be better equipped to handle stress and negative emotions in a healthy way. Plus, it will help you navigate relationships with others more effectively.
Time management is all about prioritizing the tasks that are most important to you and saying no to unnecessary commitments. Tools like calendars and to-do lists can be helpful in staying organized and on track. Just remember, the key to good time management is to not overcommit yourself and to make sure you have plenty of time for the things that matter most.
Finally, don’t forget that developing and improving these skills takes time and practice. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t see improvement right away, and be willing to seek out resources and support if you need help. In the end, it’s all about taking small steps and being patient with yourself.
And, if all else fails, remember: laughter is the best medicine. So don’t be afraid to inject a little humor into your leadership style – it can go a long way in building strong relationships and creating a positive work environment.”
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
One book that has played a significant role in my development is ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey. This book teaches the importance of personal leadership and effectiveness, and it has helped me to understand the principles and habits that lead to success in both personal and professional endeavors. One of the most valuable nuggets of wisdom that I took away from the book is the concept of ‘beginning with the end in mind,’ which means to start with a clear vision of what you want to achieve and work backward to determine the steps you need to take to get there. This has helped me to be more focused and efficient in my work and personal life. For example, I now make a habit of setting clear goals for myself and creating a plan to achieve them, rather than just going through the motions and reacting to what comes my way.
Another important lesson from the book is the importance of proactive behavior. Covey teaches that proactive people take initiative and responsibility for their actions, rather than simply reacting to external stimuli. This has helped me to be more proactive in my career, taking on new challenges and seeking out opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to me.
Overall, ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ has been a valuable resource for me in my personal and professional development. It has helped me to understand the importance of clear goals, proactive behavior, and personal leadership in achieving success and happiness.
