Meet Heidi Rendina

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Heidi Rendina . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Heidi , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding my purpose has been a profound journey, deeply intertwined with my roles as a mother to three wonderful children and a wife for 24 years. These roles have defined my life’s primary purpose and shaped my approach to health and wellness. We cultivated a family life centered around activities that bond and strengthen us both physically and emotionally—hiking, skiing, biking, boating, and camping. These activities, alongside our active participation in church and community initiatives, have provided a strong foundation, enabling us to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and control. For me, the quest for safety and control began early. Life outside the structure I created felt intimidating and unstable. I discovered that managing my environment through regular exercise and healthier food choices allowed me to feel more secure. This personal strategy was crucial, especially as I navigated my path to recovery, now marking 7.5 years clean and sober. It became increasingly clear that empowering others to reclaim their lives and fight for their well-being was not just a choice but a calling.
Throughout my life, like many others, I grappled with depression, anxiety, and the overwhelming stress of life’s demands—feelings that can render us helpless and desperate for relief. Early on, my coping mechanisms involved prescriptions like Prozac, provided by well-meaning doctors from as young as my teenage years. However, these solutions were merely band-aids, failing to address the lack of essential emotional coping skills.
At Fierce Grace Wellness, we recognize that many people turn to various vices to cope—food, people, drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling—anything done obsessively to deal with life’s pressures. Understanding this, we offer more than just temporary fixes; we provide a recipe for sustainable change. Our approach is holistic and grounded in evidence-based behavior change techniques, combined with strategic exercise and nutrition plans, designed to foster healthy, fit, and well-rounded lives.
Our programs work because they are proactive and engaged. We delve deep into the thinking patterns that lead to despair, focusing on repairing and rebuilding healthier mindsets. By addressing the root causes of unhealthy behaviors, we equip our clients with the tools needed to transform their lives. The recipe for success at Fierce Grace Wellness involves acknowledging each individual’s unique struggles, validating their feelings, and showing genuine care and concern as we guide them through the steps necessary for profound transformation.
Nothing changes if nothing changes. At Fierce Grace Wellness, we’re committed to changing lives by empowering our clients to understand their needs, set boundaries, and prioritize their health and well-being. This is how we turn despair into repair, helping each person we work with not just to survive, but to thrive with grace and ferocity. Are you ready to join us on this journey? When you’re ready, I’ll be right there with you. Let’s do this together—you are loved, be brave, fierce, unstoppable.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hello! I’m Heidi Rendian, the heart and soul behind Fierce Grace Wellness. I’m a proud 5th generation Montanan, raised with the majestic Flathead Lake as my backyard. This year, I celebrated a milestone—turning 50 years young! I embraced this chapter with open arms and a spirit of adventure, spending a week in St. John VI in a bikini, reveling in life with my husband Kevin of 24 years. We’ve been blessed with three amazing children: Brendan, Brianna, and Jake, who are now spreading their wings and crafting their own paths. Our youngest, Jake, is attending West Point Military Academy and playing football, which has brought us the joy of frequent visits to New York, a place that has captured my heart in ways I never expected.

Here at Fierce Grace Wellness, my mission is to love and inspire. Throughout my life, I’ve faced immense struggles with pain and torment, wrestling with societal pressures and personal battles. But through these challenges, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about resilience, redemption, and the transformative power of embracing one’s true self. I’ve come to understand that God does not intend for us to suffer; He gifts us peace and urges us to find serenity and joy in our lives.

Fierce Grace Wellness was born from a pivotal spiritual awakening. Google eloquently defines fierce grace as the ability to find golden opportunities in life’s silver linings. It demands transformation, pushing us beyond fear or complacency to embrace the raw beauty present in every moment. This philosophy is the cornerstone of my business, driving us to see setbacks not just as obstacles, but as launching pads for growth.

Our services are designed to empower and rejuvenate, focusing on performance coaching and tailored exercise programs that adapt to the foundational needs of each individual. As an advocate of strength training, I guide both men and women through regimens that are not merely about maintaining fitness but nurturing a body that is capable, strong, and youthful. This approach goes beyond aesthetic appeal, boosting metabolism and enhancing overall quality of life.

Nutrition is another critical pillar at Fierce Grace Wellness. We view food as life, as medicine that must be respected and understood. Whether addressing disordered eating, dieting addiction, or educating on macros, we provide the tools and support needed for sustainable health management.

The ethos of Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” resonates deeply with me—finding someone who has achieved what you desire, following their path, and reaping similar rewards. At Fierce Grace Wellness, we embody this principle. We are your partners in navigating the journey to look and feel your best.

Currently, I’m collaborating with my business coach, Rachel Svoboda, a powerhouse of innovation and leadership, to expand Fierce Grace Wellness into an online storefront. This expansion will offer a comprehensive suite of services, including nutrition guidance, workout programs, and personalized coaching—all designed to support your journey towards optimal health and well-being.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey with Fierce Grace Wellness, I can pinpoint three key qualities and areas of knowledge that have profoundly shaped my path and success. These insights not only guided me personally but are also integral in the advice I offer to those just beginning their own journeys.

Rigorous Honesty: The cornerstone of personal growth is becoming rigorously honest in all aspects of life. This means confronting the truths about yourself and your circumstances, no matter how uncomfortable. It involves peeling back the layers of denial and facing realities head-on. For those starting their journey, my advice is to cultivate a habit of self-reflection. Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses with equal acceptance and use this knowledge as a foundation for genuine change.

Releasing Shame and Guilt: One of the most liberating steps I took was learning to let go of shame and guilt. These emotions are often deeply rooted in our past decisions and societal expectations. They can cripple our ability to move forward and embrace a more fulfilled life. To those who are early in their journey, understand that your past does not define your future. Practice self-forgiveness and seek to understand the lessons behind your experiences. This shift in perspective can transform your emotional landscape and open up new pathways for personal evolution.

Developing Self-Discipline: Just like a muscle, self-discipline strengthens with consistent use. It’s about doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it. Remember, feelings and emotions are transient—they will pass. However, the commitment to taking care of yourself must be unwavering. Put your temporary feelings aside and focus on actions that nurture and respect your well-being. For those just beginning, start small. Create manageable routines that reinforce your goals. Over time, these will become second nature, and your capacity to handle larger challenges will grow.

Embracing Awareness as a Superpower: Understanding human psychology and behavior is incredibly empowering. Awareness of why we think and act the way we do offers a blueprint for change. To those new to this path, I advise you to cultivate a mindset of curiosity about yourself and the world around you. Learn to observe your behaviors without judgment. This detachment allows you to not take yourself too seriously, easing the burden of personal and societal expectations. Let go, trust in a higher power, and remember to infuse your journey with joy and fun.

Each of these elements has been pivotal in my development and in the ethos of Fierce Grace Wellness. By embracing these principles, you’re not just surviving; you’re preparing to thrive. Embrace the journey with openness and resilience, and remember, you are capable of extraordinary things.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One of the most influential books in my personal and professional development has been “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. This profound work offers simple yet powerful principles that have guided me in navigating both my inner life and my interactions with the world. Each agreement holds a transformative insight that can lead to a life of increased freedom, happiness, and love.

Be Impeccable with Your Word: The first agreement stresses the importance of speaking with integrity and choosing your words carefully. Words have power; they can build up or break down, heal or harm. Being impeccable with your word means more than just avoiding lies; it’s about using your voice for truth and love. This has taught me the value of clear and positive communication with clients, colleagues, and loved ones. I encourage those I coach to speak kindly to themselves and others, recognizing that what we say significantly impacts our world.

Don’t Take Anything Personally: This agreement has been a cornerstone in maintaining my emotional and mental well-being. It teaches that nothing others do is because of you but is a projection of their own reality. When you truly understand this, you become immune to the opinions and actions of others. This freedom is incredibly liberating, especially in the face of criticism or rejection. For anyone starting on a path of personal growth, mastering this agreement can shield you from needless suffering and bolster your confidence to pursue your true passions.

Don’t Make Assumptions: The roots of many misunderstandings and a great deal of strife in relationships lie in assumptions. We often make assumptions about what others are thinking or feeling—expectations that may be far from the truth. Learning to communicate clearly and ask questions rather than assuming you know the answers encourages a more open and honest dialogue. I have found that practicing this agreement helps avoid conflicts and deepens relationships, both professionally and personally.

Always Do Your Best: The fourth agreement reminds us that our best can vary from moment to moment, influenced by factors like health, emotions, and circumstances. By always striving to do your best, you will live life to the fullest, without regret or self-judgment. Embracing this agreement has encouraged me to persistently aim for excellence, not perfection, recognizing that my best effort is enough and all that I can truly control.

These principles from “The Four Agreements” are woven into the fabric of how I live and work. They remind me to act with integrity, maintain clarity, and approach life with resilience and a deep sense of self-worth. Integrating these agreements into your life can significantly alter how you perceive challenges and interact with the world, propelling you towards a more fulfilled and peaceful existence.
