Meet Helena Ramsey

We were lucky to catch up with Helena Ramsey recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Helena , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
For me, I have developed my confidence and self-esteem in a number of ways. For one, for as long as I can remember, I have had a lot of confidence. Growing up as a child that loved fashion and photography, confidence has always came to me with ease. But self love is a never ending lesson in everyone’s life, so my insecurities have been something I struggle with at times. We have to give ourselves the grace that we give the people we love. I always keep in mind there is only one me; me against the world. The least we can all do for ourselves is to love ourselves first and always. When you’re confident in who you are through and through, others see that and are drawn to that.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Helena Ramsey and I am an entrepreneur, freelance model, and wardrobe Stylist. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to have a career somewhere and somehow in the fashion and beauty world. Growing up I actually wanted to be a fashion designer. As a young girl, I always loved taking pictures and being fashionable while doing so. I would always take my own pictures and edit them as a teenager. I started modeling in 2019 of April just for fun, not realizing how much I loved it and grew a deeper passion for it through my progression and Growth as a model. At the end of 2021, I started getting back into my modeling and taking it more serious. Using my own creative Directing skills; creating a new outlet for my creativity. As far as both of my business goes, I am also a hairstylist and a wardrobe stylist. Owner and Founder of HairforBratzCo. And HelenaStyl3s. I truly believe that as an Artist, it is important to have multiple creative outlets. My most recent accomplishment is graduating from Bethune- Cookman University this past May with a major in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. Spanish and world culture is also one of my passions in life. I will attending grad school in Madrid, Spain for my Master’s degree in TEFL in September of 2023.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In my journey, I believe that my three areas of knowledge, skills, or qualities that have been the most impactful in my life would be one: my ability to adapt in any environment. I have grown up around many different cultures and lifestyles that have given me the ability to have a different sense of understanding for people; despite differences. Two: my creativity. I am creative in mostly every way; whether it’s music, drawing, hairstyling, or anything esthetician-related, I can do it. Lastly, my ability to change the energy in any room I walk into. My advice to those who are early in their journey in their development who be to be your authentic self, no matter who liked it or not, accept and love who you are.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents have done for me in my entire life would be there unlimited support. There hasn’t been anything in my life that I wanted to try or go for that they didn’t support. My mom has always been always been my number one cheerleader, along with my sister. I am truly blessed to have family that believe and support me in whatever I do in life.
