We were lucky to catch up with Iana Skye recently and have shared our conversation below.
Iana, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Honestly I’m still working on this part of my life. It helps to have friends that always uplift me. When I’m asked what I do for a living or what I have accomplished, i tend to downplay what I have done so people can’t say I’m “bragging” or “acting better than them”. But I have come to realize to never dim my light for anyone. My accomplishments are amazing!! I am proud of myself.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
This year has been nothing short of amazing. I have so many accomplishments. I Co-Created and completed a LGBT reality show called On 2 Da Next with My Ex. It has been picked up by Tubi and Amazon Prime. I have added Film Distributor to my services I can provide. I have a new found confidence and am learning to root my own horn. To OWN my accomplishments. I love to be able to provide opportunities for my fellow people in the LGBT community.
Currently, as Co-Producer on a new reality show, I’m excited to be working beside 2 very strong women.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First I would like to mention my acting skills. I believe I am an amazing actress. I’m a natural. I would like to let people know, the most important advice of you want to be in the acting industry is INVEST IN YOURSELF!!
My drive is a huge part of all my successes. I’ve learned to pour into myself what I have poured into others all these years.
You can do anything you put your mind to. No matter who else is doing what you’re doing, focus on your plan because no one can do it exactly like you.
