We were lucky to catch up with Iman Serbones recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Iman , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience came from the challenges that the world has given me. Cliche, but true. Everyday is different, and brings new challenges for me to navigate. I like learning through challenges because I can practice self- awareness, and take note of my strengths and areas of improvement. Growing up, I was told by loved ones that I was a determined kid with my goals, and I humbly agree that I’m still that kid today, haha!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I got a camera and passion for learning. My work has been featured across three magazines within the past year! I’ve photographed concerts, festivals, conventions, products, and the list continues to grow! I’ve traveled around the world, sharing my passion with others and supporting their ventures. I love working with local businesses and artists because of the mutual respect for our work and the passion behind it. I’m currently available for travel and tour work, so if you’d like to collaborate, message me and I’d be happy to work with you!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. I strongly encourage people to read it. That book has positively influenced me and helped me improve my communication skills + productivity. The most impactful thing I learned is that change comes from within – a good moment of thorough self reflection before taking that first step and understanding that good things take time. Everyone functions differently, but regardless, it’s a good book to read if someone’s wanting to improve.
