Meet Isabel Brinck

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Isabel Brinck. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Isabel, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my spiritual development as a human being, and it has to do with understanding that everything that happens to us can serve for something better. This works if one has the right attitude towards life and doesn’t think that they deserve everything but that anything can happen and we must be prepared not to collapse in difficult moments. I believe that we can take life’s tough moments and come out strong, learn from suffering and know how to appreciate the smallest details that life gives us every day, as a gift.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am professional visual artist, primarily focused on mixed media painting. I was born in Chile in 1965, I have a degree on Graphic Design from University of Chile. I moved to Miami almost 20 years ago, in 2003, where I’ve been based creating art with an active participation in the Miami art scene and abroad. My work has been showcased at solo as well as group exhibitions and international Art Fairs across America, South America and Europe and is part of private collections in various parts of the world. Through psychic automatism, I strive to create “one of a kind” paintings working with abstraction from poetics with lyrical expressive resources and forms that establish a more aerial space-time relationships, with surreal and dreamlike overtones.

I just came back from Madrid where I showed my work with Casasur Gallery at JustMAd Artfair, and now I’m getting ready to head to Lima ,Peru, to participate in the 10th edition pf Pinta Parc Art Fair where I’m going to be represented by 2 galleries (Imaginario from Buenos Aires and Rubber Stamp Art Projects from Miami)

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say that discipline, love and passion for what I do, and honesty have been the main qualities that have forged me into the artist that I am today. There is still a long way to go if life allows me, though these 3 qualities ,in my way of thinking, are the basic secret to success.
As an advice to emerging artist, I would say
Work on a regular basis
Don’t try to please others with your art
Don’t take frustration personally

How would you describe your ideal client?

An ideal client, first of all, has respect for your work and listens. This kind of person is interested in the art beyond its combination with the sofa. These kind of clients understand that acquiring a piece of art is much more that getting a material item that will be part of your interior decoration. The ideal client, respects my prices and, understand what art is and the difference between decoration and something that touches us emotionally. With this kind of client, generally things flowmuch more smoothly.
