Meet Lynne Wilson Jenkins

We were lucky to catch up with Lynne Wilson Jenkins recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lynne Wilson, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

My parents always affirmed and confirmed that I was loved & special, so being self-confident came natural to me. I was always a “curvy” child, but I never let the name-calling & fat-shaming stop me from doing what I wanted to do. Having a healthy self-esteem was instilled in me from birth.

Having self-confidence makes it easier to try new challenging things because I don’t second-guess myself. I may not achieve it immediately, but I don’t get down on myself and I keep trying.

Thanks, tell me about your business and upcoming projects?
Baking moist & flavorful Pound Cakes is all we do at Pound Cake Pleasures. We pride ourselves on serving our customers delectable 100% Made-From-Scratch Pound Cakes using only fresh, quality ingredients.

We offer full and personal size pound cakes in over 20 flavors. Our best seller is our To-LIVE-For Red Velvet Pound Cake.

An excellent client experience is also a top priority. We offer shipping and delivery options and give our clients the personal touch of a call, email or text confirming their order. If the cake is shipped as a gift, we send a handwritten note with the sentiment of the sender. We also follow up with the customer after they receive the cake.

Providing a quality product combined with an excellent client experience is what makes us special. Our pound cakes bring back fond childhood memories and help create new ones!

This fall, we are offering several delicious, aromatic spice flavors – Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, Applesauce and my family recipe Fruit Cake.

We bake LOVE into every cake. From the classic Sour Cream to the decadent Chocolate Ganache, we are Spreading Love by the Pound!

We believe that “people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God” Ecclesiastes 3:13.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I had to narrow down the qualities that have benefited me on my Bold Journey, I would have to say:

1. Be Persistent – Life happens, so when you get knocked down, get back up & keep pushing. You may have to take break but don’t let that stop you from achieving your dreams & goals.

2. Hone your craft – Keep learning & growing to perfect your craft. Be the best at whatever you do! That’s in any profession – business owner, teacher, HVAC tech, chef, artist, accountant, etc.

3. Be Humble – Remember your “gift” comes from God. Be confident in your skills & abilities, but don’t be cocky. Also, Be Coachable. Find a mentor in your field who can provide tips and advice to help make your Bold Journey smoother.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking for partners to collaborate with. I’d love to collaborate with Realtors/Real Estate Agents to offer pound cakes in Open Houses and as Housewarming gifts.

I can also work with other companies & organizations on offering cakes for their functions.
