Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jada Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jada, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I’ve always had a high confidence & self esteem when it comes to my brains and beauty . However , being an artist i had to develop a new confidence / esteem for myself because in the beginning i did not know what path I would be on , what audience was intrigued with my music ,and I felt like I had to play catchup with top artist so I could “make it to the top” . I found myself losing that confidence in myself . I had to surround myself around people who saw the best in me . Any negative energy or person I had to leave in the past . I began writing manifestations & speaking them in the mirror daily , sometimes 2-3x a day. I also had to admit that I had fear of failing or not being the greatest. It took a long time for me to realize the greats take “Ls” along the way too . But the main thing is I began perfecting my craft with consistency . I had to feel confident in what I was doing . As time went on I knew I was destined for something big and now have a full confidence / self esteem . The only time I’m ever nervous is right before I hit the stage, but when I hit the actual stage something just takes over my body and all fears are out the door .
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Jadare AKA Soufsidemarie and I am a Hip Hop Artist . I love being in the industry and making music . I’ve been singing at 4 years old then, writing and creating music since I was 7 years old . It’s always been a dream of mine to perform and make a crowd go crazy over my own music . I think that is the best part about being an artist . Knowing other people enjoy and can relate to the stories that you bring to the table brings a fufillment missing in my heart . The industry never sleeps but it’s an experience that I knew I could not miss out on . I have grown up my entire life in Atlanta , Ga . Atlanta is known for being the party city and its culture for music . Everywhere you go there is music playing , people lit and turnt up , and just all around creative art vibe .music was apart of everyone’s life . It was a way to either explain our reality or get away from our reality . . I was inspired by artist like Ciara , TLC , Aaliyah , Lil John , Gucci Mane , Ludacris , Future , Travis porter , young joc , Ti , Jeezy and so many more . I have new music coming out in 2024 . My new single “Lickback” will be dropping VERY soon . I also have an EP dropping this year which will have so many diff genres of music and vibes that it is one you CANNOT miss .
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back there was a full qualities , skills, and areas of Knowledge that impacted me as an artist today . I believe the first step for me was creating poetry at such a young age and being in tune with diff genres of music. I never just listened to one genre. Energy and vibrations are important of understanding the emotions behind the music being created . There are some rock , country , hip hop , and r&b songs that I’ll never forget and know word by word . That’s the same impact I wanted with my music . Another skill was consistency . People mix consistency and motivation up when they are completely opposite. There was some days I was not motivated to get up at 5am and write raps for 20-30 minutes everyday . I became accustomed to waking up and doing what I needed to do . Even if that meant taking a shower or drinking coffee first . If you want ANYTHING in life you have to be consistent first . Lastly , it’s not what you know but who you know. As an artist we can’t just make music in the house anymore and post it and expect to go “viral” . I have to put in a lot of footwork with clubs,DJs, podcasters, promoters , etc . Closed mouths do not get fed. This industry is based off who wants it the most and who’s willing to go get it .
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking to collaborate with artist from all different genres of music . Some of my manifested Collabs would be Megan Thee Stallion, Rico Nasty, Ciara, Olivia Rodriguez, Paramore, SZA , Cardi B , And of course Latto from ATL . As of right now I would love to work with upcoming artist like myself.
