Jada, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
Self-care has become one of the biggest priorities in my life. Often times my activities for self-care are different yet the intentions behind the activities never differ. Although most share similar self-care acts, mine typically come from the part of self that needs the most focus and healing at the particular time. I like to separate my self-care into categories such as “Mind, Body and Soul”. This makes it easier for me to embrace and evenly distribute my Self-Care! The category determines the act of self-care I choose to do! For my mind I like to read. Reading always tends to help me navigate from reality and live in a different world for a bit. Most of my reads stem from anything that’s stimulating to my brain. self awareness book are my go to. Also, meditating is another big act in my self-care routines. Meditating has proving to be very beneficial when practiced constantly. The impact meditating has had on my effectiveness creates endless opportunities for growth, awareness and abundance. I’ve grown a better sense of understanding myself as well as others. I exude patience more than ever and I also can enjoy the NOW of every moment. Before meditating my day to day life seemed very chaotic. From my every day tasks and duties and even my quiet time with loud thoughts. I couldn’t escape the chaos. Meditating brough a sense of peace into my life. It formed quietness within my mind and helped with my anxiety. Now, when focusing on my body, I’m not a person who works out or spend hours at a gym. I partake in simple tasks like walking, stretching, yoga and dancing. Dancing is my go to when practicing self care for my body. When I turn on a great song and dance my mood instantly changes. I also, like to Yoni steam with my Yoni Steam from Love Thyself or soak in a nice bath with natural salts and minerals! Since I’ve been on this journey I’ve changed my diet and my everyday products in my life. I try to shop as natural and organic as possible as I’ve noticed a huge change in mh body and health from these decisions. I feel more alive like, I’m actually working with my body and not against it! Last but not least self-care for my soul simply looks like me doing whatever makes ME HAPPY! Whether that’s ignoring phone calls all day, wearing my favorite outfits or coloring a picture. Whatever my soul is asking of me I deliver and that right there simply shows gratitude in more ways than one could know.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Jada Love Founder and Creator of Love Thyself 101 a self-care essential brand for women. I create powerful products revolving around self-love and self-care as well as Graphic Designing.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge I feel were most impactful were self discipline, consistency, and financial literacy. Looking back on the beginning of my entrepreneur journey I think if I would’ve been more educated and equipped on these skills and topics a lot of problems I encounter would have been a bit easier to overcome. My advice to anyone early in their journey would be to learn about financial literacy. Learn how to invest your money back into your business and make it work for you! Also, staying consistent l, no matter what you’re working on or wish to accomplish work towards it everyday. Whether it’s 5 mins or 15 make sure you continue to work towards that goal. With consistency comes great rewards. Lastly, self-discipline has to be the most important. As much as we want to blame others for everything we have to call our power back and be truthful with ourselves and know that no one is stomping us from our full potential but ourselves. The lack of discipline comes from within. When you acknowledge that every obstacle, situation, habit, routine or problem that’s creating in your life is formed from the amount of discipline you show, you then began to look at your life differently. Having self-discipline put you ahead in so many aspects of your life.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
I think the book that played an important role in my development would be “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. The biggest take away from the book has to be knowing that your purpose gives you meaning to life. We’re made to have meaning. Everyone has a purpose in life and u til you find that purpose you will never fully live and will be constantly changing.
