Meet Jade Jawish

We were lucky to catch up with Jade Jawish recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Motherhood is a journey full of challenges and rewards. It helped me discover my true calling in life. I learned that self-care is essential for being a good mom to my kids. I have always loved health and fitness and I wanted to keep following my passion of dance as a SAHM. It’s not easy to balance motherhood and personal growth, but connecting and working with other women who share my vision has motivated and empowered me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m so happy to share with you my story of how I turned my love for dance into a business that empowers women and promotes wellness. Ever since I was a teenager, I was fascinated by the art of movement and expression that dance offers. I studied dance as a minor in college and danced professionally as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader for four years. I also traveled to many countries to entertain our brave military troops. When I became a mom of two, I realized how much I missed dancing. I invited some of my friends to join me in my garage for some fun dance fitness sessions. They loved it so much that they encouraged me to open up my classes to the public. And that’s how Moms in Motion was born!

Now, I teach classes all over the Delmarva Area, mainly in Annapolis and Kent Island, MD. But I also do pop-up classes around the DMV and collaborate with other women-owned businesses. I believe that women supporting women is the best way to grow and succeed. Moms in Motion is more than just a dance fitness class. It’s a community of women who come together to have fun, get fit, and feel good about themselves. You don’t have to be a mom or a dancer to join us. You just have to be willing to let loose and enjoy the music.

Moms in Motion is also hosting its first ever health and wellness retreat located in Bethany Beach, this June. We are so excited that this retreat sold out in one week of announcing it! This retreat is for anyone who wants to take a break from the daily grind and have an awesome adventure with new and old friends. The attendees will get to support small women-owned businesses and learn from inspiring guest speakers and workshops such as functional nutrition, strength training, women empowerment and more.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Positivity, proactivity and being a supportive person are the three qualities that have shaped my journey so far. I think the best way to cultivate these qualities is to be around people who have them. They can inspire you to start your day with a positive and proactive mindset. Life is hard and everyone has their own challenges, but we can make it easier by being kind to each other. I’m so grateful for my amazing girlfriends who are my true cheerleaders. That’s why I love Moms in Motion so much, because it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with people who can enrich your life in different ways.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Moms in Motion’s mission is to create a positive and supportive community for people who want to take care of themselves and have fun. It doesn’t matter what field or industry you’re in, as long as you share the same vision and values. I believe that self-care is not selfish, but essential for our well-being and happiness. That’s why I’m looking for partners to collaborate with who are passionate about bringing people together and celebrating our differences. If you’re interested, please reach out to me and let’s make this happen! I can be reached via e-mail momsinmotionmd@gmail.com and through our website momsinmotionmd.com
